5. Thanks for taking the time to post, all sounds like really good advice- will certainly start to look in depth at the areas you suggested! Thanks also for your message ljruss- will keep you posted if where we decide to plumb for
 6. Ah that's really good to know, waiting for my 190 result too
 7. Hi, we are a also a same-sex couple moving over to Melbourne from Manchester (no kids though) and from what we hear it's a wonderful cosmopolitan city - but even, like Manchester, we're sure it will have it's fair share of homophobic people. I'll be definitely keen to hear which neighbourhoods might be best to go for. We were going to start with St Kilda for the first few months and move on from there.
 8. Hi, I've recently gone through the medical - details here if you wanted to read my experience - both me and my partner have a tattoo each and we never paid any more than the std rate and it was never mentioned in at the clinic. The std blood test screens for HIV and all forms of hepatitis so that should cover it (luckily we were ok!)
 9. Hi, I know this might not be of help but have you considered NZ? Scaffolders seem to be in immediate demand! http://skillshortages.immigration.govt.nz/scaffolder/
 10. Hi there, I've done the IETLS test in the UK recently but I've not come across the term ''functional English" before... I'm guessing it might be the relevent to the country in which you are taking the test? Here is the breakdown from what I'm aware of from the UK if that helps:- Here is the breakdown:-

Language Ability

Superior English – person has a score of 8 or more in the English Language Testing System (IELTS) in each of the four test components.

Proficient English – person has a score of 7 or more in the English Language Testing System (IELTS) in each of the four test components.

Competent English – person has a score of 6 or more in the English Language Testing System (IELTS) in each of the four test components.

Here is a link to the IELTS website where you can select the country that is relevant for more info http://www.ielts.org/test_takers_information/what_is_ielts/test_format.aspx Warm wishes, Caz
 11. The parting of the money is what makes it so stressful - none of us want to make an expensive error. Luckily the Migration Officers seems to be really helpful. Best of luck! Perhaps you can let us know when you get the result so we have an idea of processing time? Caz
