  1. Definitely! Thanks for your assistance CaptainC. Flights booked for 24th Feb!
  2. That's good to know I guess. I just have to give 2 months notice at work and I've booked my flight for the end of Feb! I need to know before Xmas
  3. Still not got my grant Applied 26th June, clicked button after partners medical had been uploaded and cleared on 3rd November. I figured it would be a week/ 2 week turn around now, as essentially they just need to ok it (as they have and have checked all the required documentation) but it's 4 weeks today and I'm losing my patience.. Feeling saaaaad.
  4. Guys, I was contacted by CO on Aug 19th requesting my medical, extra info for de facto partner before requesting their medical. I clicked the 'submit complete' button on 3rd Sept as my medical had been sent off by then, but I've still not heard anything. I've sent 2 e-mails, one on the 20th stated that I had uploaded extra documents for relationship evidence as I was hoping they would request partners medical whilst waiting for mine once they had suitale relationship evidence, but no such luck Is it worth phoning that number that's floating around? I applied on 26th June and scored 70 points so was hoping for a faster turn around. I envisaged getting the visa this week, as I need to hand in notice at my place of work in October if I am to leave in December. Hhhhmm.. worried. What is the chance that my case has been pulled out for external checks? I'm from the UK and so is my partner, so we are not from high risk countries. Would I have already been told that we had been pulled for external checks before asking for my medical, as they have 12 month dates on them? Thanks in advance!
  5. That's good to hear, thanks! It doesn't incur any additional charges though, does it? (Other than the $1760 for the additional applicant to be included anyway)
  6. Hi all, I lodged my visa on 26/06/15. Few queries; 1) In my EOI and form 80 they separated the terms 'family' and 'partner'. I said no to taking any family members with me and yea to a partner in my EOI. However, when asked if I wanted to include any family members on my visa I said no (thinking that partner didn't count because it was separated on all the other forms I've filled out). So, I've applied for myself and now need to add my partner as an additional applicant. I've filled in form 1023 (notification of incorrect answers) and form 1436 (adding additional applicant) and I've uploaded them to my immi account. Is that all I need to do? 2) How long at the moment is it until a CO is assigned? I'm hoping to be granted a visa before the end of October as I want to head for Oz just after Christmas and I need to hand in my notice at the end of October. thanks in advance
  7. I've got lots of it already done (form 80 and certified documents). I'm hoping I'll be ready to send it off at the end of the weekend!
  8. I got an invitation today for visa 189 with 70 points!!!
  9. Thanks for the response. I have a friend who worked in Oz then New Zealand and she said it was a much better balance. Teaching in the UK is full of paperwork at the moment and that doesn't seem to be the case in Australia. Good to know I haven't got to do it if I don't want to. Thanks again!
  10. Aha. It seems to have posted twice, once without the damn question. Here it is anyway: I'm a secondary science teacher, looking to migrate to Victoria at the end of this year/early next year. I enjoy teaching, and am looking forward to seeing whether the work life balance is any better over there. My question is; If I get a 189 visa granted, so I HAVE to get a teaching job over there? Say I taught for a year or so before deciding I'd had enough- could I just get another job in a different profession? Or would immigration people hint me down!? I can't seem to find any restrictions regarding the 189 visa- are there any? Part of me thinks that unless I went onto claiming benefits, I'm sure it wouldn't be a massive issue. Or is this best saved until I've been there 4 years, become a citizen and then can no longer worry about the visa? Thanks in advance!
  11. S'alright, they gave me some cream for the rash..
