  1. Received my 189 visa today, lodged 11th April. SO Happy Good luck to anyone else waiting
  2. Anyone else from April still waiting for their grant like me?
  3. Congratulations to everyone who has been granted their visas. We're still waiting for ours. I was wondering if the emails will come straight through to me or will I find out by my agent?
  4. Looking for a bit of advice. My CO only asked for police checks and medicals, we uploaded the police checks and had our medicals last Tuesday, I haven't heard anything back from them which I hear is good news. I haven't had the delay mail but am assuming that I will get it soon. Anyway my question is that it looks like we're going to exchange contracts on our place very soon, do you think it's safe to get my stuff shipped before I get my visa. Do you think it's right to still be cautious and store them in the UK until I get my visa, or shall I trust that everything looks to be ok and send them anyway. We want to move the start of September and would really like our belongings there when we get there. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
  5. Congratulations KingPrawn. Looking forward to when we start to receive our visas. Good luck to everyone waiting for COs/or direct grants x Hopefully this should be a busy week for us with lots of COs allocated to April applicants
  6. I found out about my CO from my agent at the visa bureau, and I'm applying from England. Like Jac I don't know if they are just looking at my application to grant me a visa before or after 1st July, but for us it won't make too much difference as our medicals aren't until the 2nd June anyway. Good luck everyone.
  7. Got allocate a case officer today! (Having lodged the 11th April). Now waiting for our police checks to come back and our medicals are booked for the 2nd June. This is really starting to feel real/close now. Good luck for everyone else waiting, and hopefully my next post will be that I've been granted our visa.
  8. No Slawka, the assessment is not for any points but only so that he can can be an electrician in Australia and even then he has to go back to college. It's just that since we started the visa process they have changed how electricians from outside Australia register. It makes me feel a bit better thinking that you actually lived there for two years and loved it. What made you choose Perth?
  9. I'm really starting to think if this is really going to be worth it. Not had the best week. My visa agent was wrong about how my husband gets a provisional licence as an electrician in Australia and it now turns out that he needs to get his skills assessed, (I'm the main visa applicant and we was told that he didn't need to do this) at a cost of £1500. Rung to book our medicals today and was surprised that they are going to cost us £1000 and to top it off had to pay out £800 to hire a car for the next two months as our car died last weekend. On the other hand at least things are starting to move along. I suppose it's natural to wonder if we've done the right thing when your spending such a large amount of money to somewhere we've never been before. I just wondered if anyone else is having any doubts now it's starting to get closer and the money is adding up?
  10. This is my first post on this website. We lodged our application on the 8th of April and I wanted to get our police checks and medicals done soon, although our agent advises us to wait until we hear from CO. The sale of our house should go through within the next 8 weeks so we was hoping to move in September as I am a teacher and wanted to leave my work at the end of this academic year. Would like to know if anyone else is lodging in April is planning to move out around/before September or if you think that sounds unrealistic. Also we are moving to Perth, me and my husband (both 30) with our three children aged 12, 10 and 6. Would also love to hear from anyone else who is has chosen Perth. Move is starting to feel real now
