  1. Hi All, still in in need of advice after going ahead and applying for an ETA I am pleased to say it was granted within 24 hours. So my wife now does have a valid visa. Only issue is, what happens to the evisitor application? Do I withdraw that or wait for that to reach a decision? If anyone has any experience would be greatly helpful
  2. Dear All, (Firstly sorry for a lengthy topic) I am due to visit Australia for once in a lifetime trip of watching the ICCWorld Cup 2015 (A MASSIVE Cricket Fan). After booking almost everythingnow, I had my final hurdle to cross, the visa. I am travelling with mywife, and we are both British Citizens. I applied for the eVisitor visaonline, on the 14th of Jan-2015 knowing that it takes a very shorttimeframe to generate and especially for British Citizens (a low riskcountry) usually an instant response. Well that clearly isn't true! Long story short, I got my visa luckily a few days later as they emailed meto request for information on whether I visited any of 10 specifiedcountries in the last 8 months for a period of 28 days due to a risk ofpolio virus. I did not, so was granted my visa the next day. My wife's visaon the other hand is taking exceptionally long! She was also asked the sameinformation as me, on the same day and her eVisitor never arrived. It willnow be the 10th working day tomorrow, and I am due to fly to Melbourne on the 12th February, so I have just a bit over 2 weeks. This has created a bit of a panic situation for us, as we are now wondering whether this visa will ever come through and reading stories of people who have had to wait up to 6 weeks for a decision is definitely something wecannot afford. So to my question for advice, I was thinking to apply for an ETA for mywife, while her e-Visitor is still being 'in progress'. I have heard this is perfectly okay, however I was hoping to hear about someone's experience who may have done the same thing in the past or know of someone to havedone that. The last thing I would want to do is cause more delays, by lodging a separate ETA application and end up waiting even longer on either of the two. If anyone knows of any approved, tried and tested ETA travel agents in theUK please share their details with me, as I have come across too many but not sure which are legitimate. Thank you for reading the entire post.. Any advice and help will be massively appreciated
  3. Some very useful input from people with past experiences here. What I wanted to know precisely is, if the situation does come to that (eVisitor, not being approved or finalised by the time of flight) and the person decides to go to the airport to resolve the issue with the airline, what happens with the already existing eVisitor Application? Doesn't that need to be withdrawn before you lodge another application?
  4. Hi, I am almost a year late to respond here but seeing that the situation was resolved at the check in desk, I was wondering if someone could help me understand what was the exact process when you visited the check in desk? Did you withdraw your evisitor application online before travelling to the airport, or just spoke to the airline staff and they managed to do it right there and then? I am am due to travel to Oz for the ICC World Cup from London on the 12/02 and I applied for my evisitor stupidly just this week. Although they have emailed me back for request for additional information which I've provided I'm just worried how long it will take them to process it. I still have 3 weeks and a bit to go but this is really worrying as I've spent a fortune to book my tickets hotels travel arrangements etc! If if worse comes to worse, would I travelling with my wife be able to just turn up at the Qantas check in desk and get an ETA Processed?
