  1. Hey members! We are having a good streak of warm weather & it's time for a beach BBQ day at the beach! Being in the top 10 list for being one of the cleanest beaches in Melbourne, we will be hosting the BBQ at the Hampton Beach as it is away from the crowded beaches yet close to public transportation & with a great view. Ticket price is $10 where food will be provided for you. Alcohol is BYO. Click on the link to find out more & feel free to invite your friends, housemates & hostel mates! All are welcome! Cheers! https://www.facebook.com/events/685022481599978/
  2. Like I said circumstances change & I do not intend to look after her 24/7 anymore. I was advised that because I am not on a substantive visa, the application for a partners visa is very unlikely to get approved as there are a lot of other factors that come into place because I am not on a substantive visa. I havent been given a que date/number, thats another reason why I want to drop it. 1 can only stay so long with not working or being allowed to travel.
  3. Hey there peeps! I am in a sticky situation now & I need advice on what will be best. I came to Australia & applied for a carer's visa & it has been 27 months that I have been on a bridging visa waiting now. Circumstances have changed & I have a partner here & we have been together for 2 years already. I know that when I withdraw my application for the carer's visa, I have 28 days from the date the DIAC acknowledge my withdrawal to leave the country. Now if I apply for a partners visa as soon as the DIAC acknowledge's my withdrawal, I would like to know what will happen? Also what visa will I be on during the 28 days? Will DIAC accept my partners visa application or will they reject it just because I applied it during the 28 days? Please help & give me some advice, I do not want my partner to loose almost $7grand & we going through all this just to get it tossed out. :godfather: Thank you & Happy Easter! xx Char
  4. Hey, thanks for your reply, the reason why I want to withdraw my carers visa application is because I no longer care for my grandmother & I am living with my partner. I just realised that the partner visa cost has gone up 50% as well & that just sets me back so much. I have called the migration office but they have given me unclear answers & the guy was very unsure about my questions. Thinking of getting a lawyer but that will incur even more cost.
  5. Hey all! I am applying for my partner's visa soon but I am still waiting on a career's visa & I have a BVA on the carer's visa. I am planning to cancel the carer's visa once I submit the partner visa application. Would that be a good idea? And also what advice can I get because I really want this partner's visa to come through. Thank You!
