  1. Hello Everyone, We are a family of three and we have been issued 489 visa in November 2015 and we in December 2015 we visited Darwin for a month and so. After returning back to our country of origin because of some family emergency we could not travel back. Now in August 2017, I am planning to move to Darwin and later in October my wife and my son would join me. My concern is that in November 2019 our 489 visa would expire and condition of living for two years would be bare minimum and as far I know that it takes around 6 to 9 months to get a PR, now what would happen after November 2019? - Do we need to apply for an extension of 489 or a new visa all together? - Can we do that from Australia or have to travel out? - Can we apply for PR 887 before expiration of 489? - For PR, do I need to work in the specific Profession that my visa is granted in or it can be any job? Would appreciate if someone could comment on the above questions. Cheers,

  3. Hello People, What I believe is 489 Visa is for 4 years and there is a specific date to make first entry and has "must not arrive after (date)" as well. But there is also a "Stay Period Date" which is same as the "Must not arrive after (Date)" Now, what if a person makes his first entry and returns back to his country of origin and later travels just a few months before the expiry of visa/'Must not arrive after (Date)', would he be able to stay after that date to complete the required period to be a permanent resident or ??? Would be grateful if someone be kind enough to share views on this................. Cheers,
  4. Hi sak745, I have also submitted my application end April and not been contact by CO as yet. What is your status? Have you been contacted by a CO? Cheers,
  5. Hi Yogen, Can you please share your status? Have reached NT? Cheers,
  6. You may go to the following link............ http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.aspx
  7. Hello Sharleen2988, 489 is a temporary visa and it is legal requirement to complete your two years mandatory period, whereas in 190 category it is more of a moral obligation.
  8. Hi Yogen, It would be nice if you can share your application status and timeline. It would help me to calculate expected time of application process.
  9. Hello Jpadda001, No as yet, I'm waiting for CO.........
  10. I guess there is only one principal applicant, hence only one visa as main and your wife would come under dependant......
  11. Ozmaniac, thank you for your prompt response. Another question...... If I move forward with 60 points, whereas my EOI claim is 65, would it be a wise move? As reapplying for state nomination and EOI may take another 10 weeks and there is no guarantee......
  12. I have submitted an EOI in Skill Select and have received an invitation to apply for a Skilled Regional (Subclass 489) (Provisional) When applied, I was assuming that my points would be 65 but after VETASSESS skill assessment my points have been lowered to 60. My application needs to be lodged on or before 29 Apr 2015. Now at this point, as my score has been lowered and what I believe is that I have to let go this invitation. Can you please advice what to do? Do I have to lodge a new EOI or update this EOI as per the current changes in points.......? and for state nomination, Do I need to contact Department of Business Government of NT to tell the situation or just reapply?
  13. Can you suggest a way out????
  14. VERYSTORMY/Ozmaniac, Just to clear one thing that I have skill assessment done last year and points advisory just now and only today I've got the result. Would it make any difference I have hired an immigration lawyer but he is clueless and I want to *********
  15. Ozmanic, Thank you for your reply. As a professional Restaurateur, I would call Pizza Hut or Nando's a Casual Dining Facility or a QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) and fast food would be any outlet which does the counter service like McDonalds or KFC. So would you still not consider my experience and would not allocate points?? My concern is that if I ignore VETASSESS Points advisory scoring I am fine, as I have relevant experience (Which VETASSESS has not considered and saying it is in fast food operation which lies under retail sector). If I apply, would DIBP consult VETASSESS for Points Advise?
