  1. I rang and spoke to the managers directly and explained the situation and my experience to get an idea of what they thought. I was fed up of applying for jobs and not hearing back. If they’re looking for someone with your experience they are more likely to give you a chance
  2. Hi, just personal experience - thought it might be helpful. I would take your job offer in UK first, gain some experience and then come over to Aus. reason I say this as you need a job offer before you can become registered, it’s really difficult to find an employer who will take you on prior to having registration. i worked for a couple of years in uk first, and believe my experience is why I was offered work. Would have been a lot harder as a new grad as competing against Australian new grad OTs who also have registration. From what I’ve heard from students here it’s competitive. good luck!
  3. Hi I was about to lodge my application for 189 skilled visa (I am currently working in Australia on a WHV) however noticed that you are able to complete health checks prior to lodging your application via 'my health declarations' I am awaiting a few things from the UK anyway such as additional birth certificate with both parents names on (I only have version without these details on) and my UK police check to come through therefore I am debating completing the medical while I await all of these documents and upload everything at time of lodging application. Has anyone any advice about whether it may be better to sort everything first or has anyone any experience of using my health declarations? Cheers
  4. Thanks for the advice. I am happy to submit all the info just worried about dates as I can't even remember the date I started my Alevels, hopefully this will not matter too much if your slightly wrong. Darwin is great, it is the beginning of the wet season now although there has not been any rain (for the last 4months that I have been here) it is starting to really get warm, however I would rather be warm that be in the UK freezing. Darwin's 'dry season' was amazing, no rain, clear blue skies and sun every day. We initially tried to settle in Northern Queensland (however really struggled to find work) and the unpredictable weather was a little bit annoying, at least with Darwin you know what your getting! Cheers
  5. Thanks, everyone I ask appears to do different. I am hoping that If they want any more info that I haven't provided then they will ask
  6. Hi all Received my invite today and in process of completing application. Wasn't sure on the education section if I had to go as far as including GCSES and Alevels. Its also very difficult to recall exact dates of study and employment history for that matter. I am currently in Aus on a WHV, living and working in sunny Darwin. Good luck to all hopefully October will be the lucky month and we don't have to wait too long for CO allocation Cheers Vic
  7. Hey guys To all of you who have successfully been given PR well done... Sorry if it has already been asked but I wanted some advice on filling out the education section on the visa app, do I include GCSEs and if so what category of qualification do they fall under Cheers in advance
  8. Hi all, i have a 189 question.... At the point where I lodge my application for 189 visa, my partner being added also as de facto. I am asked to provide information in the education section for both asking for secondary and higher level education. Does this mean I have to add all of my GCSEs and ALevels? Has anyone done this, what 'Category' would these qualifications come under? Im guessing 'other' to be on the safe side... Cheers
  9. Hey guys, has anyone tried for work in rural areas just to get their stage 2 done? I was offered a job in NSW health in the hunter valley district a few months back. I currently work in NT, Im sure you have looked into rural areas but thought it was worth mentioning
  10. Hi all, I am currently completing my stage 2 supervised pratice in Aus... It is difficult to find employers who will take you on without registration (you cant apply for limited registration until an offer of employment has been made) however it is possible! When applying for jobs, email the manager to enquire to save lots of time applying for jobs where they wont consider you Once you have limited registration you have it for one year, so my thinking is you can continue to work in that job as you sort out general registration Good luck
