My partners FBI clearance took 3.5 months. When they finally looked at it they advised him he didn't pay the application, he only paid for the fingerprints and return postage. He then forwarded on the correct payment and they told us they would have to start a whole new application which would take another 3 months. So after almost 7 months waiting we finally got it back last week and have uploaded it so just waiting on a reply from immigration now.

I know. We are. However my partner lived in America for a few years and it takes 3 to 4 months for them to issue a police clearance. We sent off for it over 2 months ago so hopefully it shouldn't be much longer. Not sure how to arrange the medicals though. I tried following the link to organize them but it keeps bringing me back to the same page.

We got an email from team 4 in Adelaide this morning requesting character references police clearances and Medicals. Hope that's a good sign!

Upload the proper reference and a stat dec explaining what happened. Should be fine.

Yea a couple more weeks isn't that long to wait considering you stayed 2 years ago. We've been in perth for 3 years already on different visas so hopefully this is the last time we have to apply for a visa!

Really? That's not too bad I suppose. Yes waiting certainly is the worst part. I called immigration a few weeks ago and apparently it's not just one case officer that looks at each application. They are passed around a few case officers first.

Waiting is a killer!
