  1. With Moneycorp closing down in Australia can anyone recommend another company to transfer UK pension funds. Are Transferwise any good?
  2. I didn't wait for them to invite me to apply. When the 2 years was up I applied for my 801 with the info they required. 1 year after that (May 2018 ) I got an email saying I had been granted my Permanent Partner Visa.
  3. Me married April 2015. Applied June 2015 onshore. Partner Visa just given June 2018.
  4. So happy and relieved to advise you that at the age of 71 and 3 years after submitting onshore my application for a Temporary Partner Visa I have been granted my Permanent Partner Visa. It would have been more difficult applying online without an agent if it was not for the help and assistance I received from the knowledgable, friendly folk on this forum. Thank you all so much. Davo
  5. I am in contact with Alan now thanks.
  6. Yes you did Ramot. Thank you. I will consult a local tax agent up here in the NT.
  7. Thank you. I will digest this tonight.
  8. Thanks Alan. Ramot posted that they were temporary residents and because like me their income comes from the UK they pay tax there. This is what I was told by some "expert" so I delayed telling HMRC that I was here until I get hopefully my Permanant Partner Visa. When I found out that can be another 22 months I decided to act. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!! I only have a State Pension and a small private pension from the UK no other worldwide income.
  9. Thanks all. Some conflicting advice. I have applied to the Australian Tax office for a TFN number in case I get a part time job here. I will write to HMRC and ask them what I should do as my income is from the UK. I have received my tax calculation for 2016/2017 from HMRC BTW.
  10. I am currently waiting for a decision on my 801 Partner Visa which has an estimated processing time of 16 - 22 months. I have been living here since July 2015 with my Australian wife on a temporary partner visa. I applied for my partner visa in September this year. Because I am not a permanent resident here I have kept an address in the UK (My sons) and this is the address HMRC has for me. Can I apply to be taxed in Australia even though I am not officially a resident yet? I am retired on a UK pension. This has raised it's head because Lloyds Bank in the UK have sent a form for me to fill in asking for my country of residence for tax purposes due to a change in international tax legislation. Because when I do a transaction with my UK bank account they have to ring my mobile which is Australian they think I am resident for tax purposes in Australia. Can anyone advise me what to do before this gets messy? TIA
  11. Done all that thanks. Now I have nearly completed the online form, been saving it as I go along BUT when I logged out and back in I cannot find any way to get back to finish my online form plus they have given me a new TRN number!! I have clicked on the Stage 2 section displayed but I cannot find the saved application form again. This is harder than the original application!
  12. Thanks for that. So I click on New Application, click on Family Visa, select Partner Visa Stage 2 and proceed. Do I submit the same script for how we support each other etc as I did in the Temp Visa application or should I rewrite it fresh?
  13. "Maintaining a valid visa You have been granted a temporary visa and will become eligible for consideration for the grant of a permanent visa. You do not need to make a further application for the permanent visa. Generally, applicants become eligible two years after the date of the lodgement of the combined application. Shortly before that date, the Department will write to you and invite to provide further information. There are no travel restrictions associated with your temporary visa. If you wish to travel outside Australia pending a decision on your permanent visa application, please ensure that you advise the Department of your contact details as failure to respond to requests for information can lead to a refusal of your application and the ceasing of your current visa" Sorry just found this on immi info document.
