  1. Hi I was wondering has anyone ever applied independently to AIM for the skills assessment or if anyone has used an agent just for this part of the application.. Would really appreciate any advise.. Thank you x
  2. Thanks Anna, it's always nice to talk to people in a similar situation x
  3. Hi thanks for reply, he is 44!! Sorry I probably made an error previously he worked for the wholesaler from the age of 16 and worked his way up to manager - will need to check what age he was but think was supervisor, then to manager.. His not 45 until next year so need to get our skates on!!
  4. Thank you all for replying, ok I will explain our situation and any advise will be gratefully received. My husband works as a section manager for a large and well known supermarket chain in the distribution warehouse, he has a shift manager above him but on many occasions my husband stands in for the shift manager, under my husband he has four assistant section managers working for him and under them about 50/60 staff. He has been doing this job for 7/8 years. Previous to that he worked as a manager for a fruit and vegetable wholesaler in London, he was there for 20 years, so in total has 28 years experience. He has a HND in computer studies. On this information alone we were told we could apply for the 190 visa as a supply and distribution manager also we are looking to go to Adelaide. The agency that advised us he has a good chance also advised us that I could apply for the visa under 189.. (This is where I doubt there knowledge) I work as a assistant nurse practitioner (I'm not registered) but told by the agency I could apply as a nurse practitioner!! I asked if you had to be a registered nurse to do this, but she said no!! But I know to work as a nurse practitioner you need to be registered!! Sorry I hope I haven't confused you all xxxx
  5. Thanks Alan, the agent I made the enquiry with is registered with MARA but not sure the advise they were giving me was correct, so now doubting we are even suitable:-((( x
  6. Hi Shazza 87, thanks again for replying, The application is in my husbands name, so I have printed off the skills assessment application form for him to go through and the job description, We will go through it with a fine tooth comb, shall I wait for the result of that before I book the English test? I will concentrate on that for now then move on to the EOI, so what visa did you apply for? Do you have children travelling with you? We havnt mentioned it to anyone yet just incase it falls throug, especially family :-( How long did your application take from the time you put in your EOI? X ps - thanks for the advise
  7. Hi everyone, we have now been advised to apply using the 190 state visa.. Can anyone advice me please, do I have to send off the application off for the skilled assessment before putting in a EOI? Good luck to everyone on this site, you all seem way in front of me xx
  8. Thank you.. I really need to try and decide.. X
  9. Hi Shazza, thank you so much for replying to my post, wow well done you, that's great news!! - I am completely new to this and so worried about getting it all wrong, but do you have to get your skills assessment done first (via AIM) and your English test then submit your EOI or do you submit your EOI first? Just been looking at the skills assessment and it's requiring lots of paper work work charts etc!! It's tough isn't it :-(( - so when are you planning on leaving and where abouts in oz? Xx
  10. Thank you for replying, it is abit of a minefield I have to say.. So far the agent feels we can apply under the (csol) but there fee's are so expensive, have you heard of many people successfully applying directly? Thank you sarah
  11. Thank you Alan - so do you mind me asking, are you an agent?
  12. Thank you for getting back to me maggie, We have been told by the agency they are confident we will be accepted for the 189 visa, there fee is £2.000. I'm just so worried as I have read about fraud agencies etc. xx
  13. Hiya Shelley - my name is Sarah and I'm new to this site, I was just wondering if you used an agent or if you applied direct.. You must be feeling really excited.. Cheers Sarah xx
