  1. Hi everyone, Hope everyone is having a great week. Like everyone else here, I'm in the waiting game for the PR and it really does put my life and my family in stress due to the uncertainty. Hopefully we all will get to hear some good news soon. I would like to ask everyone if you all are aware if the immigration department will check our tax documents as a process to approve the PR? The reason is because I filled my tax last week with our tax agents and I realised for the past 3 years, my tax was filed under a different occupation code than my 186 application. I asked the agent and he told me it's fine but I'm just feeling very nervous about this. As you all can imagine, all these small details freaked me out and I don't want this to be the reason my application is rejected. And also, do you all have an alternative plan in case the application is rejected? (*touch wood*) I'm just constantly worried and feel that maybe I need to find another backup plan like looking out for other options in other country, get ready with uprooting my family. My 457 will end next year June and if I do not get an answer by then we will be in bridging visa. And if my application is rejected when I'm on a bridging visa, I will need to leave the country in 1 month time? That is really not a lot of time to leave and look for another option hence I'm thinking about it now. I don't see many rejection on the spreadsheet which gives me a sense of positivity. Thank you all for your advice and I'm so glad I found this forum. It has given me immense support to work through the day hopeful that we get a good news soon.
  2. Hi Everyone, Hope to get some ideas/advice on my situation. I have been offered a job in Brisbane and my new employer is willing to sponsor me on a 457 visa. I'm a Malaysian citizen and my fiance is from India (working in Malaysia on a work permit). We just got engaged and planned to get married end of the year. Now,my employer will start the nomination process (no MA as my employer has done this before) and I want to add my fiance as spouse. However, I do not have any legal paper to prove we are married (yet!). My questions: 1) Can I add him into the application now? Should I apply under de facto partner or married (and indicate the marriage date will be end of the year??) 2) If I choose de facto, I don't have any joint account statement to prove we are financially committed. He is an expat here and he has been managing his own rental/properties and expenses. 3) If I can't add him now, what do I need to do after my visa is granted? My employer need to write another sponsorship letter to support my spouse's visa application? How long does it normally take? 4) If I do so, can my spouse work in AU under spouse visa? After getting the job offer, we both are equally happy and sad. We do not wish to be separated after we just got engaged and there are so many things that we need to consider if he can't join me in AU. Hope I can hear some advice from all. Thanks.
