1. When you arrive in Australia on a PMV, you will NOT be eligible for MediCare. After you get married, you will be able to apply for your Partner Visa 820/801. Once this has been submitted (ie you get the instantaneous automatic Bridging Visa A) - you will be able to apply for MediCare. Health Care timeline: as soon as you arrive in Australia, get some "visitor's cover" from a private medical insurer once you've applied for your 820/801 visa, go to a MediCare office and get yourself onto MediCare (see "what should I bring to MediCare" section of MediCare eligibility link below) call your private medical insurer, inform them that you are now on MediCare and change your policy to a supplemental policy (since around July 2016, there is a requirement for everyone to have supplementary private cover to MediCare, otherwise you pay more tax, or something like that) To be clear, once you have applied for your 820/801 visa, you will have satisfied the 2nd bullet point on the MediCare eligibility page "an applicant for a permanent visa (some exclusions apply) who has the right to work in Australia or who has a parent, spouse or child who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen (who is an Australian resident)"
 2. Next page will be the payment page, where you enter your debit/credit card information - when you click Submit for that, it will show you a page stating that the payment has been completed. After clicking the Next button for payment confirmation - you will be taken to the evidence upload page. The Partner Visa Upload Guide will help you with organising your evidence for the upload.
 3. I had a similar issue with names. On my birth certificate I have my father's surname (4 syllables). Around the age of 6, my mother decided to unofficially shorten my surname to 2 syllables. Since then all records, licenses, passports, etc in my life have been with the shorter name. My migration agent recommended that I do an official name change prior to submitting the application. I googled: online deedpoll It asks you when your name changed - I approximated June 1985. I paid about £15 and received it within a week. When you submit your application online, you can upload a colour scan of your deedpoll document under: Evidence Type = Change of name, evidence of Document Type = Change of name certificate
 4. So should I only really submit one piece of evidence for each category , or submit a few , or one will suffice? Don't look at your uploads from the point of view of the categories shown in the document upload area. What is listed and marked (very confusingly) as "Recommended" is usually irrelevant to the Partner Visa - ignore them and find Evidence Types that apply to the documents you have to upload. The 4 key ones you are looking for are: - Financial aspects of the relationship, Evidence of - Nature of the couple's household, Evidence of - Social aspects of the relationship, Evidence of - Nature of couple's mutual commitment to each other, Evidence of You want to try to split as much of your supporting evidence into these 4 categories. I know someone who only submitted one piece of evidence per section. Do you know the exact sections they uploaded under? Knowing this information may help you with your evidence upload. On the categories like proof of age, proof of place of birth etc, I have submitted my passport and birth certificate, driving license twice. Before you upload any more documents, I recommend you plan which Evidence Type and Document Type you are going to use for each of the documents you still have left to upload. Each document you have should be uploaded only once. If you are unsure of where something fits, ask us on this forum
 5. I've submitted 30..but I feel like I'm kind of submitting the same evidence, under different titles Things like Passport, Birth Certificate, etc appear under multiple Evidence Types - these type of documents should be uploaded only once, under the most relevant evidence type. I assume you are referring to evidence like 'Joint electricity bill' - which could count for Evidence of Financial aspects of the relationship and Evidence of Nature of the couple's household. Whilst it is tempting to upload documents multiple times to add support to different categories required for a partner visa, it doesn't simplify things for the Case Officer. It is best to choose the category that it applies to the most, and go with that. Also, it is highly recommended to combine documents that are similar in nature (eg 'Joint electricity bill', 'Joint gas bill' and 'Joint telephone bill' to make 'Joint utilities bills'). This will save you a lot of slots and make the Case Officer's job a lot easier. And do I have the use the whole 60 and upload 60 items? I uploaded 38 documents for me (the applicant) I uploaded 12 documents for my partner (the sponsor) So 50 documents in total Also, I have my partners birth certificate and his statement, so can I upload those two items for him? Upload them using your ImmiAccount. He just needs an ImmiAccount to complete the online equivalent of the 40SP form (quoting the reference number from your application) The Partner Visa Upload Guide I posted on your Submitting my Application..! thread, covers these details that you're having difficulty with.
 6. You haven't (explicitly) mentioned whether you are applying online via ImmiAccount, or doing a paper application All my responses below are based on the assumption that you are doing it online using ImmiAccount But I'm still confused about the submitting of evidence part..looking for advice! I recommend you reading the Partner Visa Upload Guide for guidance on the experience after submitting your application and categorising your evidence for upload If I scan and send all of my evidence in color copy, does any of it still need to be certified? Form888s still need to be certified Black & white documents need to be certified All other documents can just be colour scanned Can I scan the actual passport/birth certificate itself, or do I need to photocopy then scan? Do a colour scan of your passport Do a colour scan of your birth certificate Do I send all the scans to an email address/ how is it sent to them? After submitting the application - it takes you to a payment page where you enter your credit/debit card information After submitting the payment - it takes you to a page where it confirm payment has been completed The next page after this confirmation is the evidence upload area can I upload the photos I have from my phone, or do I need to print them out? It is highly recommended that you use a laptop or a desktop to get this done For photographs, it is recommended that you create a Word document with a table (2 columns, 4-5 rows per page) Within each cell put 1 photo Print the document off to pdf You only have 120 upload slots (60 for the applicant, 60 for the sponsor). Uploading 1 pdf file with 30 images within it is a much better way of using those slots
 7. I entered Australia on a PMV 300 in Dec 2015 I married my wife (sponsor) in March 2016 I applied for a Partner Visa 820/801 in May 2016 The 820 visa was granted in June 2016 My wife took on my surname and updated her passport in February 2017 When she logs into her ImmiAccount and selects 'Update Us' in the left pane, there is no option to update passport details. When she clicks the ? next the 'Update Us' title, a popup window appears showing what should options should be available. 'Change of passport details' is on the list - but the option is simply not there on her ImmiAccount page. When I log into my ImmiAccount, the help 'popup' is identical, but I do have a 'Change of passport details' on my account. When I select that option, only my name is available in the drop down list. Does anyone know if the option should be there for the Sponsor's ImmiAccount - in which case, how should we contact DIBP to notify them of the change?
 8. I created a word document which had a heading and a table with 2 columns Each cell had 1 picture. 6-8 pictures per page. 3-5 pages. When finished, I printed the document to pdf format. Social aspects of the relationship 1 document: Pictures of us with friends/family 1 document: Pictures of us with friends/family at our wedding & reception Commitment we have made to each other 1 document: Pictures of us as a couple (no-one else in these photos)
 9. Typically, within 24 hours (usually within minutes) of completing payment on the partner visa, you will be granted a Bridging Visa A. The Bridging Visa does not come into effect (kick in) until your existing visa expires. It is only after payment that you will have the ability to upload your supporting evidence (from Payment to finishing uploading all documents took me about 3 weeks). https://partnervisa820uploadguide.neocities.org/ The above link is a guide that covers: The experience immediately after clicking the submit button till completing all uploads Examples of evidence to upload How to organise these documents for use with ImmiAccount Good luck!
 10. I recently did my Onshore Partner Visa (820) application using the ImmiAccount website. Like all of you I found there to be very little documentation on how to go about doing the document upload. Through reading through forums like this one, I realised that supporting documents have to be uploaded after I submit payment. Even once I took the plunge and made payment, I found the upload process to be very confusing. I took lots of screenshots and documented exactly what I did - which I have put together as a guide: http://partnervisa820uploadguide.neocities.org/ This guide shows the approach I used for categorising my supporting documents for performing the document upload. I did all document uploads (for myself and for my sponsor) using my ImmiAccount. My sponsor just had to complete "Sponsorship for a Partner to Migrate to Australia (300, 309/100,820/801)" via her ImmiAccount. Note: About 5mins after I made payment, I got the bridging visa (A) - it's automatically sent after payment clears. Hopefully someone will find this useful.
 11. Thanks for the response Leanne. I have requested this information from my employer and asked them to also include in the letter that my wife is down as my next of kin. I intend to make reference to this in the "nature of the commitment the applicant and the sponsor have to each other" box on page 17 of the ImmiAccount application.

September 2015 My PMV 300 was approved

December 2015 I arrived in Sydney

February 2016 I started working in a full time job in Sydney

March 2016 I got married to my fiance

June 2016 My PMV will expire

The Partner Migration booklet only seems to request employment details for my wife (the sponsor). The visa application does ask how financial responsibilities are divided within our relationship - so I'm guessing it will be useful to show, financially speaking, that I pull my own weight. Should I ask my company to provide me with a headed letter stating that I am in employment with them? What key/important details should I request them to include? Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
 13. Thank you for the responses. Can I apply for the BVB before the BVA becomes effective (ie before my PMV expires)? Also how long did the BVB take to process for you?
 14. (Hopefully I have placed this thread in the correct location - I feel it is more about visa queries than about career prospects). I was granted my PMV in September 2015. I arrived in Australia last week. My fiancee and I get married in March 2016. My PMV expires in June 2016. In the UK I did consultancy type work, which meant that on occasion I had to go see clients overseas. As my PMV allows for multiple entry into Australia and permits me to take up a position of full time work, I thought I would try to get the same type of role. My understanding is that once we get married, I will be applying for a Temporary Partner Visa (subclass 820 & 801). Once this application has been accepted (but not yet processed), I will automatically be given a "Briging Visa A" which will: entitle me to remain in Australia until the 820 is processed allow me to have the same working entitlements as my PMV I will not be able to leave the country with the 'A' type visa, so once I receive it, I will need to appy for a "Bridging Visa B" to replace the 'A' visa. MY QUERIES: Does the Bridging Visa A become effective as soon as it is issued to me, or only when the PMV actually expires? Does the Bridging Visa B allow for multiple trips overseas? Do I need to notify the department of immigration prior to each trip? Is the maximum length of each trip pre-determined before the BVB is issued to me? Is it likely that I will be able to do a job that involves international travel? Any help or advice on this matter (especially the queries that I have raised) will be greatly appreciated.
