  1. Thanks, that's what I thought, we're overseas at Xmas and will be overseas before we're eligible for citizenship so we'll have to do the visas in the new year I think. Thanks for replying
  2. Just after confirmation regarding returning resident visa if possible We had our PR visas granted March 2015, validated them May 2015. Moved to Oz Sept 2017. Do we need to get returning resident visas from March 2020 or a different date? Thanks guys, have a great day
  3. thankyou, that's put my mind at rest
  4. Hi, I got an email from skillselect asking for updated information. We had our 189 visas granted March 2015 and we validated them May 2015 so not sure why skillselect want to update...any ideas? should i ignore it since the visas are in effect? We are planning to do the full move to Oz Sept 2017. thanks
  5. We have our work visas, validated them last year and hope to arrive next year in Oz, before travelling next year we need to get new uk passports due to expiry dates, do we have to inform immigration of tye new passport numbers or can we just continue since the visas are validated already?
  6. Thanks for that info, the link was helpful in confirmation
  7. Hi, We were granted our 189 visas in March and we validated them through visiting Australia in May. We've recently had a slight change of circumstance and we will be taking a detour enroute to Australia via a 2 year contract working in the Falkland Islands. Does anyone know if we have to inform Aussie Immigration of the change of address even though we have our visas validated or is it something not to bother about? Thanks

    acro

this is probably a silly question but do we need to get an acro (police certificate) done for a 2 year old for the 189 visa?

    EOI

Hi, Both myself and my husband's jobs are on the SOL list, is it worth us putting separate EOI's in? Thanks,

    ielts

Hi, I qualify for the 60 points required for the 189 skilled worker visa, I've had my qualifications assessed and approved to work in Oz. We were originally going to go on my husband's job and he took the ielts exam but due to an unforeseen circumstance we're thinking it might be better if we go on my job which is also on the sol list. I haven't taken the ielts exam and don't need the points from it to have the 60 points required but I heard somewhere that the principle applicant has to have done the ielts to apply...is this true or can I apply knowing I have the points required, a UK passport and proof of all my education being in English? Thanks
  12. Hi, I have an obvious question but just want confirmation on the details really...we are applying for the 189 skilled worker visa with my husband as the principle applicant, only because his job pays more, we both have jobs on the sol list but there seem to be more jobs coming up for me than him, as i'll be named on the visa and therefore I can work using his visa and not needing a separate visa as I once thought, does anyone know if it matters who gets the job first? when we land in oz and go through immigration does it matter that it could be me that has the job and not him as principle applicant?? thanks :-)
  13. Hi, my husband (principle applicant) just got his ielts results today, he scored an average of 8.5 which according to some immigration pages means he should get 20 points, but when we look at the criteria because one of the categories he only got 7 in (9, 9 & 8 in the others) then it gives the impression he would only get 10 points...can anyone clarify as to which score we should be looking at before we put our EOI in? Also, if he is to gain another 5 points from my profession which is on the sol list do I have to have done the ietls test or is accreditation of my qualifications enough for this? thanks,
  14. thankyou for the responses, that's one less hassle for us :-)
  15. I was recently told that if my spouse who is the principle applicant obtains the 189 skiller worker visa and I am named on that visa this means I am entitled to work using this visa and don't need to get a separate skilled worker visa...is this true?
