  2. Sounds like the Autocomplete setting is filling out certain web page form fields automatically. Have a look in the browser options / settings and there will be the option to delete your autocomplete history.

  4. Not booked anything for this year yet, but last year we were very lucky to get Qantas/Emirates return flights to Brisbane in November for about £500 each by booking through the Brazilian expedia website. Booked last March but this was some sort of pricing anomaly that has since been closed unfortunately...
  5. You have 1 year from the date of your police check certificate or medical - whichever is the earliest
  6. This is why - I will change permissions back so people can edit and not just comment. Try in 5 mins. Regards
  7. Applied for 189 on 20th April, and in the meantime I have applied for and received my first British passport. On the application I only submitted details of my EU passport as that was the only one I had at the time. I gather i need to complete and submit form 929 with my additional passport details, but was wondering what to put for question 5 Details of visa applied for TYPE: CLASS: At which office was the application lodged? I was thinking "Skilled Independent", "189" and "Online" but thought I'd double check. Thanks
  8. You can book the medical anytime as long as you have the HAP ID number. To get this, log into your immi account and do a new application, looking for 'My Health Declarations' under 'Health'. Once you complete the application, you will be able to download a Medical referral letter which has your HAP ID number.
  9. I did a couple of weeks ago, and it went without a hitch. Would recommend doing it if you want to get the medical out of the way (bearing in mind this affects your validation date). Once you do it, you download a medical referral letter with the HAP ID number you need to book your medical. Then after you have submitted your visa application, there is a button to click called 'get health details'. Click on this and assuming the medical details have been forwarded to DIBP, you will see this message; Health requirement – health clearance provided – no action required All health examinations required for the specified visa subclass have been finalised. Processing of this person's visa application can now continue. This will not occur until a case officer investigates the case in line with published processing times for the visa that has been applied for. Do not contact the department about health examinations in the meantime.
  10. @Ozmaniac These are the relevant answers in my application.. Relationship status: De Facto Are there any migrating family members included in this application?: No Non-migrating dependent family members not travelling to Australia who are notAustralian citizens or Australian permanent residents: No
  11. sorry for all the questions, but as I am doing this application solo I wanted to make sure. In my application I said I was in a de-facto relationship (for 5 years), but also said I would not be adding my partner to my visa (as she is Australian). Do you think I still need to provide evidence of my de-facto relationship? I have the documentation ready but thought i would see what others had to say first.. Thanks!
  12. To those of you who have submitted form 80 - how many personal contacts in Australia did you put down? I know a lot of family and friends (my gf is from Queensland) but thought more than 4 or 5 is overkill? Or not? Thanks
  13. Does this happen in other browsers - Firefox or Chrome? If you don't have them i would recommend you download and install them as they are both better and more reliable than IE. If it doesn't happen in other browsers then sometimes changing the Accelerated Graphics setting under Tools->Internet Options (Advanced tab) help. Click to select the 'Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering check box' and restart IE. Try youtube again. Good luck
  14. Submitted my application last night. eek! Have front loaded police certificate and medical. Has anyone submitted form 80 upfront??
  15. We have two 4 year old ragdolls and would also be interested in what people have to say about this.
  16. Guys, if you are expecting, login into skillselect and check - my EOI status has just changed to Apply for Visa ;-) Good luck all
  17. All the best for everyone hoping for an invite today. Got my EOI in this morning and will have my fingers crossed as well!
  18. Hi guys, yes someone restricted access again - I have fixed this so please try now. handily, google docs also shows a timeline of people editing the doc, so I have made a screenshot of who restricted access on the previous 2 occasions in case anyone wanted to chase them up about it. Email addresses can be found under the advanced share setting, but please don't change anything if you are not sure what you are doing. regards
  19. You can see the closest practices here: http://www.immi.gov.au/Help/Locations/Pages/United-Kingdom.aspx Then go to their websites - they generally have the visa medical prices somewhere. My one is booked for knightsbridge doctors in London and will cost £295 for the medical, chest X-Ray and HIV test. Children will probably cost less depending on their age.
  20. try the '189 visa' worksheet ..
  21. Ok please try now.. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkrdCphtU8u-dGJQSWROUlZ0bThIaUF2VW9zdUZmMlE&usp=sharing I'm guessing whoever changed the sharing settings did it unintentionally. Have changed it so that anyone who has the link above can edit.
22. Do you mean this one? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkrdCphtU8u-dGJQSWROUlZ0bThIaUF2VW9zdUZmMlE&usp? Title of the document is "PLEASE DO NOT SORT OR FILTER". I can still get in, and notice that someone has changed the sharing options so only a select group of about 50 collaborators can edit and presumably access. Last entry is 18th March, so looks like something happened to the file there or thereabouts. Let me know if it is this document as I can reset the sharing so anyone with a link can access. Thanks
  23. Thanks guys, one less thing to worry about then. All the pieces are falling into place bit by bit :-)
  24. Cheers guys. My concern about the driving license is because the way I understand it; - You have 3 months (Queensland) or 6 months (Victoria) from the first day you land as a permanent resident to get a state Driving License. - If you don't do this you effectively can't use your UK license to get an Australian license without starting from scratch and having to take the tests again. This is why I think I need to get the license when we go in September. I'm not concerned about invalidating my UK license as an Australian license will see me through until we emigrate. Please correct me if I am wrong with any of these assumptions.
  25. Hi all Assuming all things go as planned(!), I am hoping to go to either Brisbane or Melbourne around September time to activate my visa. My girlfriend and I don't plan to emigrate for another 18-24 months, so this would be a fleeting visit. I was just wondering about the following. Driving License Queensland give you 3 months from touchdown to apply for a driving license and Victoria 6 months. I have a full UK license. For me to sort this, could I put a friend or family's address down as my address? Or get them to come along when I apply? Tax File Number (TFN) Is is worth applying for this when I activate my visa, or should I wait until we fully emigrate further down the line? Bank Account Same question - apply now or when we emigrate. We have friends and family in Brisbane & Melbourne so can supply an address if need be, but obviously no rental agreement or other proof of address. I am trying to make sure everything that needs to be done now is done, and given the time limit on the driving license, that is a priority as far as I can see. This may all be covered ground for some, but as always any advice or opinions are very much appreciated.
