  1. Hi all, We are almost done with our packing (WOOHOO!) and it seems we're going to have a LOT of bubble wrap and foam chips leftover. We thought there may be some good folk on PIO who could use these. We live in Addiscombe, (Croydon) Surrey and collection would HAVE to be tomorrow (Wednesday 21st) afternoon, say from 12-5. Any takers?
  2. This morning we waved goodbye to our car as it was driven away on a car carrier heading to Southampton docks, ready for when the ship sails in the next few days. WOOHOO!
  3. Yes, Kite Packaging. We've used this lot for double walled boxes, bubble wrap and biodegradable foam-like chips. They've been good on delivery times too. If you order in the morning you've got a good chance of next day delivery without paying the extra for it :-) http://www.kitepackaging.co.uk/
  4. Thanks for the reassuring replies folks. I'll give Kristian a call tomorrow.
  5. Arnott's Scotchfinger Biscuit, or 'Grandad Biscuits' as my family call them. It's the best dunker in the world and it won't be long before I can add them to my shopping basket! Happy days! :-)
  6. We're going to ship our car with Iron Lady Imports but I'm a bit worried about the delay in getting replies to my emails. We want to get the car shipped ASAP and it's now 4 days since I emailed the requested VEA and pink copy of the import approval. For anyone who has used ILI, can you offer any advice on how best to proceed please?
  7. I hope it helps! Having to stop at the traffic lights right at the door to Oz House meant we got to yell it over and over and over! We yelled our way around the whole building for you! It's making me giggle just thinking how mad we must've looked to those walking by. :-D
  8. I'm about to head into London and will be going past Oz House. I'll have the megaphone handy and yell out to give your Hubby his visa TODAY! Technically you're now into the 10th month... Hubby and I really hope today is a good day for all of you who are at or nearing the 9 month mark.
  9. Our CO is VF and we're going home to the beautiful Central Coast! :-) Your CO is due back today aren't they? Might be worth giving them a nudge. It worked for us!
  10. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooo! *bigfathappydance* He got it! Hubby has had his visa granted and we're going home! :-) I was on Skype to my Mum and Dad in Oz when hubby walked in with the email. I am so happy I could burst! Actually, I am - well, my eyes are! They keep leaking because I am so very, very happy. Thanks everyone for your support and I hope this starts a new wave of grants coming through. @TheEscapePlan, you must be next... :-) Happy day! Happy, happy day!
  11. It's 271 days or 8 months and 28 days since we handed in Hubby's visa application. I naively (or optimistically!) thought that if we submitted a complete application so no additional information would be needed, the visa might be granted earlier than that 8-9 month quoted processing time. When we emailed our CO to update her on some family information and to check that the medical and police check had been received and all was OK, the reply was very short - do not contact her again until the 8-9 months have passed. That was almost 5 months ago and we've done as we were told. Again, I thought that if we did the right thing and not contact our CO, Hubby's visa might come through closer to the 8 month mark. Fat lot of good that's done us! So now here we are, just 3 days away from the 9 month mark and we're still waiting.... *sigh* :-|
  12. Welcome to the waiting game cch! We're at 8 months and 25 days of our quoted 8-9 month processing time. So, so close, but until we get that email with the grant we'll still worry that something is going to go wrong! Maybe today will be our lucky day....
