  1. Hi, My husband has just been offered a job in Southport and we're going to be flying out in January. Now the mammoth job is beginning with the search for where to live. We have a 4 year old, who will be starting school on Oz in Jan/Feb and a 1 year old. Does anyone have any recommendations about where to live and where I can find more information out about schools? Any help would be much appreciated and if anyone would like to meet up when we arrive, that would be great. Jane x
  2. Congratulations. I knew it would come eventually Enjoy the chaos that now begins with moving. Are you looking for jobs first?
  3. Hi Kellie, All four of us had our medicals done at the same time, 3 of them cleared straight away but we had to wait for my daughters to be cleared separately as it was referred to the medical team (not sure who they were) because she was born with hip problems. This took about 2\3 weeks after ours being cleared to go through. Once that was done, our visa was granted. They didn't request any further documents. I think it was just the fact that the CO couldn't clear her as there was a medical problem, so they had to refer it. Everything was fine though, so fingers crossed for you. I was getting really frustrated at waiting for it to clear and then the grant suddenly came through Hopefully you won't have to wait much longer x
  4. Hi all, I've been looking in to flight etc so thought I would share what I've found. There are many airlines that do one way flight (some are daylight robbery) but by using the banking link at the top of pozsinoz, there is an e-mail address (shrukidiscounttravel@qantas.com.au) for Qantas. They offer a pretty good rate and 46kg luggage allowance. They've also said that I can reserves now, pay in June and can change my flights for free, subject to availability. It does depend on your visa type though. If you're looking for flexibility, then this seems pretty good. Also, moneycorp do free transfers to an Oz bank. Sorry to those of you that have probably already figured this out. X
  5. Ours was finally granted yesterday. We had to wait a bit longer for my daughters medical to go through but it is all done now. We have to enter Australia before 21st February 2015. Exciting times to come
  6. We've been amazed at the speed of our visa application based on the fact it said 12months on the website. We've taken our time completing everything as we're not in a rush but we submitted the application at the beginning of January, had a CO 30th January and are now just waiting for the medicals to clear!!!
  7. Thanks for this. I think we'll wait until we are asked for them from the CO as we still have a lot to sort here with 2 children and jobs.
  8. Hi everyone, I'm a little confused. Some people are saying that they submitted their visa application and had their medical and police checks done before being allocated a case officer. On the website it states that you will be told to this once allocated a case officer. We submitted our application at the beginning of the month. Should we wait or start getting things done now? Thanks in advance
