  1. You picked a good weekend to visit, last week was miserable, wet and cold! I live in central London, I do love it as a city, but grew up in Cornwall........ emigrating to Brisbane on the 24th Sep, should be fun!
  2. Snap, exactly the same reason and locaiotn me and my fiance are doing/moving to! Got no ties in the UK in terms of kids/mortgage, so does simplify things a great deal!
  3. Submitted on 30th March and got our grant today, had to do form 80 and 1221 (or something like that), so thought it would take a while longer. Happy it's been issued so we can start planning flights etc!
  4. Thermo in my flat (live in central London) currently at 29 degrees, going to be a toasty evening.
  5. For point 1, yes that's all me and my partner did, she did exactly the same as you, our CO updated the immi account and I could then upload my details and got my HAP ID for medical examination.
  6. We got a CO yesterday, submitted on 30th March.
  7. Its similair to a Form 80, i.e takes a while to fill out and asks for a lot of information! I don't think it gets commonaly requested by CO's.
  8. Me and my missis (she is the main 189 applicant) submitted on 29th March, apparently a CO requested info via e-mail on 14th May, but we (she) never received anything, so they contacted again today via e-mail at which point she saw it. CO wants form 1221 and 80 completed..........damn
  9. Me and my fiancee are similar to you guys (28/27)), comfortable and great jobs here in London (live in elephant and castle) but want more than this and can't imagine having kids here in Zone 1! Went to Oz over Xmas for a month and have decided Sydney is the place for us, so just working through the skilled 189 visa process at the moment!
  10. I proposed to my now fiancee in Oz (Daintree Rainforest to be precise) after flying in from the UK. I had the ring in a small box in my pocket the whole time until I went through the X-ray thing and put it in my backpack, then had it back in my pocket the other side and flight + going through Oz airport. Didn't declare it and had no issues.
  11. Interesting, I know Kinetic is a big defence recruitment specialist, might be worth contacting them; http://www.kineticrecruitment.com.au/
  12. I'm SC and DV cleared, also work in Defence in the UK. Most of the Aus jobs for me require Citizenship which is annoying, even some defence contractors out there (BAE Systems for example) require you to be a Citizen for a large number of jobs.
