  1. Oh, also, we got granted the 100 :-) Like ovationplayer we didnt contact our CO - I think just letting them have the control is the trick! (Quite hard for an impatient control freak like me!!) Good luck everyone :-)
  2. Yes! Ours came through today at 8 months and 4 days!! Moving back home to my family in Adelaide in November with my other half :-) Bollinger popped to celebrate tonight!!
  3. Excellent news for these latest grants! Congratulations! Makes us feel like we are nearly at the light at the end of the tunnel!! :-)
  4. Hi, our applicatiom was lodged 22nd Jan so we're (hopefully) on the home stretch and just past 8 months. We have flights booked for November but think we may be safe to look at a holiday visa just in case - can you get this with a one way flight??
  5. We booked ours with a travel agent (much easier than online as we also wanted a stopover in Singapore en route!) and basically told her we needed a ticket which would allow us to change the date (for a fee) if need be, plus the approximate amount we'd seen flights for. It was a little pricier than just a straight one-way flight booked online but it means a) we can change date if we need and b) we get 3 days in Singapore. Tip: With Singapore Airlines, you get 30kg checked luggage each, plus hand luggage.
  6. Well, today we hit the 8 month mark! Given others posts we are feeling a little more realistic about our expectations and are okay with the fact we are likely to be waiting a few more weeks. We haven't contacted our CO and will only do so after 9 months......waiting, waiting, waiting!
  7. Hi all, I've not posted for a while but have been following the thread and cursing Australia House for their seemingly increased grant times! Our application for 309/100 was received on 22nd Jan 2014 so we are nearly at the 8 month mark. We have been advised my partner is being assessed for the 100 (permanent) given the time we've been together....not that that seems to make the wait time any less! Although they suggest waiting until visa is granted, we have already booked our flights for mid-November....all going badly, that would take us to nearly 10 months waiting so fingers crossed it stays at the 8-9 months! Given the advice on the thread we are not going to contact our CO until the 9 month mark - seems wise. After that, we'll panic! Good luck with all your waiting - we feel your anxiousness! :-)
  8. Well, that's it. We've submitted everything. Lodge date 22nd January 2014 so awaiting grant within the next 8 weeks. Going to jump the gun and book flights at the end of August and hope that they don't decline the application this far into the process. :-)
  9. Thanks for your replies. I have been in touch with both the surgery and our CO and it looks as though the restriction is placed by the surgery. Immigration are fine for them o use birth certs as ID, but the surgery require photo ID for all medical examinations....how would a child under the age of 16 have photo ID without having a passport? So it looks like we will have to get them passports (it was on the to-do list later down the line anyway) before we can book the medical which sets us back a bit...
  10. Hi all, We've applied for the partner visa and are being assessed for a permanent as we have been together for 5 years. My partner has two children who are not coming with us, though they still have to have a medical examination. When we go to book the medical, we have been told that the children must have a passport for identification purposes. They don't currently have passports and it seems silly that they need to get one just for ID for a medical examination!! Anyone else had this issue? Jo
  11. Excellent news! Didnt think to give them a link to our Facebook accounts - good idea! Might email him back - though we have also just sent some other stuff requested by post. Planning time starts now - probably the more stressful bit!
  12. Hi themod53, We have been together for nearly 5 years but have lived at the same address for nearly 6 as my partner was a housemate before we got together! Our CO just mentioned in his introductory email that the reason he was requesting further info was to enable him to assess us for the 100. I think on a previous post by someone else I had read that they can automatically assess for the 100 if you have lived together for three and a half years (?). Fingers crossed you get the 100!
  13. Hi seg2014, Our application was received on 22nd Jan 2014, we were assigned a CO about a week ago now with dates to do medical and character checks and in the same email there was a request for further evidence of a long term relationship as our CO wants to assess us for a permanent visa straight away rather than the temporary :-)
  14. Hi FroginOz, I was advised that we shouldn't apply with police check already completed. Had you been advised differently of just decided to do? Also, was that the UK police check or Oz?
  15. Thank you all for your advice. Yes, we have read all the info about 25 times to try and make sure we have everything right! I could probably quote the partner migration booklet by now :-) Have certified passports, citizenship certs, change of name, stat dec's etc, but including originals of other docs to support. We are sending off on the weekend! Very exciting. Good luck to others yet to apply!
