  1. Hi Everyone, Hope someone here can help and rest my mind; I applied on 6th July and received an email from immigration on 3rd Sept requesting evidence for casual/part-time employment I had in 03-05. Unfortunately I have no evidence as this was cash-in-hand kind of work when I was still at school, it was in a small retail store that didn't do things too formally. The business ceased trading in 2012, I can provide evidence of this through Companies House. I have absolutely no contact details for the employer since. I have provided evidence for 9+ years employment experience that has been acknowledged in an email from DIBP. I have claimed for 8+ years in my application. Can anybody advise what action I could take at this stage? My thoughts were to email my case officer/team stating that the business has ceased trading, I have no documentation or evidence and no contact details for the owner/management but I am concerned that this will not satisfy their requirements. I'd appreciate any support or advice, starting to stress more and more! Thanks, Marty
  2. Hi Everyone, Congrats to all that have applied and been granted their visa already. 3. That's great, I'm glad to hear some positivity! The next step we would look at is doing some research into the necessity or benefits of using a Migration Agent.
  4. Hi, My girlfriend and I are in Melbourne on a 417 Working Holiday Visa. We have another 8 months remaining (this is our second year), we would like to stay long term and apply for a 189 Skilled Independent Visa. Can anyone tell me if receiving the Visa within the 8 months remaining is a reasonable hope? I plan to complete the English Language test and Skills Assessment before the end of this month. I would appreciate any advice or comments! Thanks, Marty
  5. Hello, Seeking some advice or experiences. I am an electrician, currently in Australia on a 417 WHV, I am just about to begin my second year. I have recently started a company in regional NSW, offering small electrical installations, repairs and mainly Tag & Test (PAT). I have heard that it is possible to "Sponsor yourself" through this route but I have also heard that there are complexities to the requirements of the company such as structure, turnover and the length of time the company has been operating. Perhaps if I appointed a friend or family member as a director of the business, would that be of more benefit in terms of a visa being granted to me as an individual? Can anybody shed any light on the situation for me? Cheers, Marty
