  1. Hi just wondering who everyone used when moving over from the UK to Australia. As it's everything we have we are having trust issues as well trying to get the best deal for our pound. We switched a tiny amount online through our own bank in the uk to our new bank in Australia but the amount we got on that transaction turned out to be poor, so thinking if we transfer the whole amount we are going to lose out on a lot of dollars. Any advice on past experience would be very welcome. Beka x
  2. Hi we are moving over as we have been over a few times to visit family and fancied trying it out ourselves. We don't expect to work any less or expect life to be easier, but the idea of living in the sunshine also appeals a lot. We do realise that the sun can sometimes be a little unbearable but hey ho you can't have everything. Just something we feel we will regret if we don't go and try, only live once an all that. beka x
  3. Dont think there is any need for the sarcasm, this is supposed to be a forum to help people! If you don't know then you ask some people who do. If you have nothing informative or nice to say then you should not say anything at all.
  4. Hello, if you are waiting on your 189 being granted, but are on a holiday visa in Australia, how do you go about getting it validated if it's granted while your still on holiday visa ? Do you need to leave and then re enter? Beka x
  5. Hi all thanks for all you replys, some great stories! Well done to all those who have already made the move and good luck to those who are soon to do so. Your opinions and stories have settled my nerves a little and nothing ventured nothing gained I suppose. We have family in oz and have been over 4/5 times so kind of know what we're going to although I know holidays are different to actually living there. Anyway all going well, we should be make the move 2015. Will keep you's updated on how it all goes.. Thank again Beka x
  6. Good morning everyone as title suggests, I beginning to wonder and let the doubts creep in about whether or not we are too old to be starting again. We are both mid thirties with 2 kids, and for as long as I have remembered wanted to move down under. Now that it's nearly here I'm starting to have jitters about a Few things.. What your opinion? Beka
  7. Good evening everyone we are planning a move over to Australia some time 2015, my OH has an Engineering HNC and has been informed that this is equivalent to an Australian diploma. First of all is this true and if so how do you go about getting it recognised/converted to a AQF diploma ? Thanks Beka

    Work history

Good morning currently filling in application for a189, and getting asked to provide 10 years working history/duties of both myself and my OH. I am the main applicant although I'm not claiming points for my work history. Is this normal procedure as I don't want them to think that I am trying to claim points for this? Beka
  10. Hi jac2011, yes I am aware of these standards that APHRA have set and luckily I do have a degree. :wink:What I am not sure of is, if the waiting time is still the same whether you have a degree or not? I have been hearing people are waiting a very long time for APHRA so just wondered if there has been any change to this? Thanks
  11. Thanks guys, this is music to my OH ears. I also had to sit the IELTS twice for points reasons and he was not keen to sit them. It's also an expense we could be doing without, he has a British passport and no convictions so all good! Thanks again
  12. Thanks Maggiemay24, this is what I thought but read something the other day that made me doubt it.
  13. Good morning we are about lodge our EOI (189) with myself being the main applicant as a registered nurse, and I am wondering if my OH needs to prove in any way his level of English? Does he need to sit the IELTS also or provide school/college reports that prove this or is his British passport enough to satisfy immigration? Thanks Beka
  14. Hi can anyone advise me on everything that needs to be included on a statement of service for APHRA? Beka
