Thanks for the advice. I've not heard or read anything good about Townsville so I think I'll swerve that one.

Can anyone advise about life in Townsville? I've been offered a job and it is tempting. I'm currently living in Sydney and am ready for a change, but not sure if Townsville is the right move. It looks nice in pictures, but I'm worried that I'll be in the middle of nowhere and the only Pom in town!

Hey Mikee. I can't work out what visa I should go for. I'm a motor mechanic so can wait a year and get an employer nominated visa, or apply on my own as a skilled worker. I think that they cost about the same but I've heard the employer nominated visa usually goes through quicker. Only thing is I'm not sure I want to be tied into my current employer for the foreseeable future. I like the idea of moving on and seeing a bit more of Australia. My partner is defacto on my visa and I'm not sure how that will affect it either. There's so much to get your head around!

It's a small "red light district" as some people call it. One road where there are some sights to be seen. Plenty of wrongens, what you'd expect in that kind of district. However very easy to get away from, as I said it's only one road.

Keep going back and forth... It's great! Why do you have to be stuck in one place?
