Morning/evening all. just a little question on driving in NSW & insurance, how does it work exactly? I have been here 2 weeks now & the rental is due to go back so we want to buy a car, we have seen one that has Rego on it till april 2014(does this mean, I believe that means it has a current pink slip ie Mot & road tax till then & does it mean it has 3rd party insurance on the car??) If so & the car does have some type on insurance on it are we still required by law to buy separate insurance? Cheers in advance for the help. Steve

Evening all just a quick note to say that me & my family have been granted our visas(subclass 457)...sent off week before xmas & received the confirmation email a few days ago.....How quick! looking to fly over around the 1st week in feb. Just a couple of Q's..How long can I drive on my Uk licence? is it 3 months? also I have seen that like us in the uk there is a sort of 2 part motorcycle licence, ie you can not ride a large HP bike straight away(I belive there is a HP limit for new riders) As I have a full bike licence can I take a test straight away to carry on riding the big bikes? Or do I have to do a 2 part sort of test? I will repost this in another forum area in case Its in the wrong one..this is only my second post so a bit new to pomsinoz. & the last one being..what superbike championships is there? in the uk we have a 16 round British superbike championship & over there the Australian superbike championships is 5 or 6 rounds & is a support race(touring cars are the main thing over there which is similar to our BTCC championship. Some of you may be thinking he has his visa's & he is asking about bike racing! Reason being is that I love my bikes & always will either way I'll be there soon! Cheers in advance for any help given.

My wife did not need one for her 457 as she stated she had no convictions but I had to have one done as I had a couple of stupid moments 20 years ago which I had to declare. It will either say 'no trace' 'no live trace' Which mine came back as & says you have a history but it is not relevant & the last being 'live trace' which i guess means that you would still have on going issues or recent ones(I think)
