  1. Hi Nifa Sorry for the delayed reply been so busy trying to get organised for the move. I can't advise on post delivery as we haven't received our container yet however I can't fault PSS so far, they have been great with communication at every stage, they packaged our house up promptly and professionally and have really been great to deal with all round. Have u decided on a company to go with yet? I've taken insurance with PSS which the OP has had a bad experience with but I can't offer any advice on that yet, I'll update once we have had our delivery. We sent our stuff via shared container (as we were planning on heading out later than a sole use one would arrive) that was on the 16th of Nov and it docked in Melbourne on the 12th Jan so much quicker than expected. PSS provided us with tracking info so we could keep up to date with where it was. It's now waiting to clear customs which is going to take a bit longer than usual as it's a busy time of year apparently, were not due out for another fortnight tho but will keep u posted x Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi M1cha3la, so sorry to read about your experience ! We shipped our container mid Nov with PSS and took out insurance through them, we were originally going with a third party but they price matched and we thought - if the insurance is with them as opposed to third party surely they will take more care with the goods - they offered us pairs and sets which I was adamant we needed as we had just bought mirrored bedroom furniture so if one piece was damaged we wouldn't be able to replace it, our container has just docked and will be out in two weeks so fingers crossed everything is ok, if not though I was just wondering if you have any advice on the most efficient way to make a claim? TIA x
  3. Hey, we lodged our 190 Visa on 19th Oct and are awaiting a response which we're hoping will be through any day ! Ours was a bit more complicated we got our CO assigned on 1st Nov but as we had lodged just before our baby was born we had to wait for her passport to come through to book the medicals, they got back to us again on 9th Dec requesting a form to add our daughter onto the visa which we sent that day... it seems each time has been about 4 weeks for them to come back to us so with the holidays I'm hoping it will be through in the next week. Fingers crossed for a quick grant for u! Our container just docked in Melbourne so we're nervously waiting now ! When do you plan on flying out? x
  4. Thanks Blossom, I emailed them this morning so will update the thread when I hear back - in case it's helpful for anyone else thanks again
  5. Hi wrussell, Thank you for your reply! The problem is that TRA only asses 14 of the original 49 trades that they used to (as of Sept 13) and no longer asses Metal Machinist (first class), although TRA are still listed as the assessing authority for this trade, so I am unsure who we would go to now? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
  6. Hi all, Hope this is the right place for this message and I apologise if not, hopefully someone will be able to help/point me in the right direction. My partner and I are looking to register an EOI for a 189 permanent visa, my partners job falls under a metal machinist (first class) and the assessing authority for this is Trades Recognition Australia, however it now states on their site that they have reduced the trades they asses from 49 to 14 and so no longer asses this trade. My question is, I have found a few companies that offer trade assessments, however is it acceptable to just use any company? And if so are they any that anyone recommends? Thanks for reading
