  1. Thanks a lot for the quick reply! An employment letter which states purpose is to higher studies, won't that be an issue with immigration authorities? ~Anish
  2. Hi all, I am in the process of applying ACS assessment for ANZSCO Code 261313, Software Engineer. This is what I assessed myself on my probable score, Age 25points - I am in the 33-39 category. Education 15points - I am an Post graduate in computer applications. Overseas employment 15points - 8+ years work experience in India English Language 10points - hoping I can score 7 in IELTS :-) Now the problem I face is related to the employment reference certificate. Some of my previous employment letters states me as Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer. But with my current employment the title is Senior Application Engineer/Principal Application Engineer. I believe though they look into the title they are more interested in the duties or roles that we played. This could also be a concern as my current employer (about 7 years working) is not giving me such a certificate - one in letter head stating duties and responsibilities. Moreover they do not give an employment certificate with out a purpose. In pre-formatted employment certificate given by my company, they always specify a purpose and they do not have 'Migration' as a reason. And they are not going to give a custom certificate with a purpose 'Migration' or a closely related one. So what can I do to get an employment letter with no purpose and details like duties or responsibilities mentioned clearly? An affidavit will do? If so who should authorize or witness it? A government notary is the one in India who does the witness for such job. But does Australian authorities accept that? I have read this statement from here, http://www.ag.gov.au/Publications/Pages/Makingastatutorydeclaration.aspx I live overseas and need to make a statutory declaration You can find someone who is an authorised witness at the nearest Australian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate. Thanks! Anish
  3. Hi, I am new to this process. But reading from the ACS letter what I can understand is they have approved the two listed work experience. Otherwise they wouldn't have listed the Team Lead one, right? I too am in the process of applying ACS assessment for the same category. But with my current employment the title is Senior Application Engineer/Principal Application Engineer. This is a case of issue for me as my current employer (about 7 years) is not given such a certificate. Moreover they do not give an employment certificate with out a purpose. 4. Hi, Is there any one here who tried with statutory declaration for employment reference? I too am in a similar situation. In my past 10 years of working, I have only my first employer (about 3 years worked) who gave me a clear letter of employment which states my area of responsibility and roles clearly mentioned. My current employer won't give me a letter without stating the purpose. And there are a list of approved purposes like applying for passport renewal or applying personal loan etc. Now I can't submit a letter stating my employment and the purpose mentioned as one of these, right? Moreover my roles or responsibilities are not listed. That's when I started thinking about statutory declaration. The link given by Srini is no longer working. Please suggest if this is fine and if so what should be the format. I have also heard that a co-worked can also certify this as a statutory declaration on his/her behalf. Please help. Regards Anish
