  1. Hi we too are a mixed race family hubby is white and I am Indian we have been together nearly 23 years, married for nearly 19 years have a 16 year old daughter and 13 year old son and have been to many countries abroad and and in uk and have never ever experienced any racism whatsoever!!! We were in Perth on a reccie for 3 weeks made some lovely new friends whilst visiting some of our friends from the UK, but are now heading for Adelaide as hubbys job came off the WA skills list and we are really looking forward to starting our new life but the through of any racism has never ever come into the equation. Times have changed!! Bal xx
  2. I am not sure as we have an agent who we would ask that question to I think you can do any job as long as it is 37.5 hours a week for 1 year and live for 2 years then you can apply for PR.
  3. Hi pmckin14 I put a thread on here in early Oct Moving States Ina 489 visa try and find it and see the replies 7 th Oct I think it was really conflicting replies!! What results do you need my hubby sat IELTS 7 times to get all 8's he got all 7's after 2nd attempt so we wasted £1000 after 2nd attempt with tutors too he was getting 8.5 & 9's in everything but his writing, so we thought enough was enough went out on reccie in Aug and then started 489 visa instead of wasting anymore time. Bal
  4. We were in same situation and also asked moving state but we were told it is a risky thing to do and could affect your PR, they seem to be clamping down and there was also a family that got deported as they did not stick to all their 489 rules!! I would not recommend it and won't be doing it either!!
  5. Hi Guys, Is anyone else having trouble submitting the Visa application my Agent tried to submit ours last week to start off with but the DIBP website crashed then the announcement came out that WA where bringing out the New List on Monday so we told our agent to hold on as WA was our first choice of destination and SA second, hubbys job was not back on list and now she has been trying to lodge the application for SA since Monday with no luck and it does not look like its been done today either!! Everytime we think we are moving forward something happens, very frustrating this journey is :arghh:

Hi Claire, Yes we are carryiong on with SA but Scotts job was high availability on list in August and now medium, I think they will all be reaching their limits soon and a new list will become available with your job on it I am sure. I will keep looking for you and will keep you posted on our visa too xx

    Gutted!!!

Oh Claire, I am so so sorry for you hun I saw it at 5am this morning after looking numerous times through the night, also got an email from our Agent to say Hubby's occupation was not on either!! I hope you do find a way, if I can help or you just want someone to talk to, pm me. I am a bit worried now with WA as hubby's construction title apparently has never ever come off before this this due to mining work Chin up!! Bal. x
  8. Yes Claire, I did see after looking at 9am in morning and telling our agent to carry on with SA Application and then 1pm I saw someone had put something on about the WA Skills List and could not believe the information I saw, but thought it was too late for us as our Application had already been submitted but did not get confirmation yesterday from our agent who is in Brisbane at the moment so sent her an email to say please do not submit if you have not already done so!! She emailed us back at 3.45am to say the website had crashed, therefore she had not lodged the application (I think someone up there like us!!!) So now more sleepless night to see if Scotts job is back on, if not we carry on with SA!!! Hope yours is still there too Claire remind me again of your job number to look out for and fingers crossed for you too xxx Bal x
  9. 7 weeks to get a C.O. thats not bad going what are your plans next then and what part of Oz are you heading to?
  10. yes thats what our Agent dis she submitted 1 for WA and 1 for SA and as hubby's job was not on WA list, that EOI was going nowhere really until it had all the details they needed to move it forward!! Let me know if I can help anymore or just put your questions on here, people are really helpful and good luck, but dont waste too much time worrying about things like we did as we could have submitted our EOI for WA in June when hubbys job was still on list and we would have had our WA Visa by now, but we decided to go to WA on a reccie first to check out job situation and schooling first as we are going out on 489 Regional and Provisional Visa and wanted to check there was enough work in regional areas first!! Bal
  11. Hi Guys, We have received our ITA for SA this morning exactly 7 weeks after we lodged out EOI!!! Anyone else in same position or close to us, it would be interesting to see what happens next!! Bal x
  12. Mitesh, We are in similar situation to you and submitted EOI to WA and also SA hoping the list would change but it has not and today we got our ITA from SA and we are just going for it and not waiting to WA as not one knows how long you will have to wait in the meantime you could have your Visa and be getting on with your life, we are going out on 489 Visa so its different but from what I can gather if you are going out on a PR Visa you can move states anyway!! Someone please correct me if I am giving woring information, but this is what our Agent told us and also that once we get to SA and for whatever reason we cannot make it work there then we may have some options of moving states, but I will worry about it when I need to as if SA have been good enough to gives us the chance of a new life I will give it 110% to make it work!!! We could even prefer it there!! Do you have an agent ior are you doing it yourself? Bal
  13. Same as that Claire now the 15th and still no news yet, I am now really getting impatient, but there is no way of finding out is there? Good luck to you too!! Bal. xx
  14. Does anyone have any inside information as to when this list will be updated, as my life/visa is on hold until it changes!!! Any information would be gratefully received.
  15. Thats what I keep saying to my children too, we've done WA so lets go and explore SA now and then we can decide where we would like to be, but may not be able to do anything for the first 2 years until we get out PR!! Life on hold 18 months and still on hold yet!! lol, good luck with everything Bal x
  16. Hi Donna, We have not long come back from perth but only on a reccie and fell in love with the place only to be told when we got back that hubby's job had come off the Skills List there and our other options were Melbourne or SA we have decided on SA and then moving back to WA if and when we can!!! And also if we feel the need to, but my way of looking at it is there is something for everyone in Australia so many different places to go and try first before I ever move back to the UK I am 46, you are only very young, just remember everything you went through to get to Oz in the first place!!! We are jumping through hoops and over hurdles just to get there and I dont really care what part of it we end up in, we just want to start living our life again because at the moment we feel our life is on hold and has been for the last 18 months or so!! Good luck with whatever you choose but as they say Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained!! Bal.
  17. Hi Claire, OMG a friend of ours has not long left and he said exactly the same as you about getting a foot in the door in Oz and after he went I read your reply how coincidental!!! We will def get there 1 way or other and so will you, are you doing the process yourself or are you using an agent?? L et me know if I can help in any way and will also keep you posted!! Bal
  18. Its my hubby who's job we are getting the visa on and yes he sat the IELTS a few times got all 7's on 2nd attempt but struggled to get 8 in wiritng part but was getting 8.5 & 9's in all the other 3 sections, but decided we would go for the 489 visa as some people I had meet on the forum where doing it and they have since got their visas and annoying part is they do exactly the same jobs as my hubby and me, but then it got taken off list, we are happy also to go to SA and Victoria is another place we could have gone and like you say only for 2 years then become permanent and go anywhere you like in Oz. I dont think it will change anytime soon and I hope for your sake it does not and keep my fingers crossed for you and please let us know how you get on!! And yes we may meet up in WA as we will be visiting friends there if we dont end up there ourselves too xx
  19. We are applying for 312112 Project Building Associate which has come off the list for WA for the first time ever apparently or so I am led to believe, it was just shock horror to come back from WA to find that out, we have been very naive with the whole process and thats why we have used an Agent adn she suggested loding an EOI for WA and SA while it was high on SA list to fall back on, she has tried to find out about New Skills List and she does not think it will be anytime soon, we could have our Visa for SA before WA even update their list!!! Have you looked to see if your job is on any other states list??
  20. I agree with Rupert!!
  21. hi cjenky easier said than done isn't it? But what if it's not done until the new year that's months away!! What job description are you waiting for?? We where also advised to lodge an EOI for SA too, nothing against SA. But we just really loved WA and have friends there etc really don't know what to do next wait for new list or carry on with SA, what would you do??
  22. Does anyone know when the Skills list for Western Australia will be updated it is just showing soon on the website which was last uodated 2 October 2013? Many thanks.
  23. Good luck with that what visa are you going for!!
  24. Thank you Rupert, I really hope we do not have to but its nice to know we can if we really have to.
  25. Peach, Thank you so much for that reply, I was thinking this may be the case, mush appreciated reply. Bal.
