  1. That's right Timothy but I have been told that they will take career experience into consideration in order to remove the notation. tou may want to clarify, by I was told that a letter from prev employer detailing your caseloading work and how many women you would have cared for, would suffice for the notation to be removed after the period of supervision. oh my goodness, I daren't even look at how many emails... They've hada year of my life, that's enough! Ive applied to a few public hosps in melbourne, they're just looking into with supervision means for them! So fingers crossed I'll see you there! leep
  2. Hi Timothytoad, comgrats on securing a job, where qill you be working? Basically I had heard of someone who appealed with no caseloading experience and had her supervision reduced to 3 months. Understandably upset at that (when I was told not to bother appealing, even with caseloading exp) so I emailed my old case manager and she replied saying that nobody has been given a reduced period of supervision after appealing. She then went on to say that the 12 months supervision is in the process of being reduced to 3 months, for everyone, so it is not on the website at the moment as it isn't official, but will be discussed at the board meeting which should be next week I guess. Following this we will all receive correspondence. It it means we are able to apply to have conditions removed after 3 months full time practice and if we have fulfilled criteria we will be registered without conditions. are you aware it is not essential for u to complete the COCE during your supervised practice? I can explain this in more detail is you aren't sure about this too. Hope this helps Leep
  3. Hi Jen and everyone else, I had an email last week from AHPRA stating that the period of supervision will be reduced from 12 months to 3 months. The decision is just being finalised and those already registered will receive confirmation once it's confirmed. It it sounds like a step in the right direction to me!
  4. FYI ladies (and guys), something AHPRA havent mentioned to anyone!... If you havent held a caseloading job you still need to completed 20 cont care cases in order for the notation 'not educationally prepared for mid cont care experiences' to be removed from our registration... I found this out by chance when searching for documents on their website, nothing was mentioned at all about completing these during the process. Another lack of communication...
  5. i really dont think so. They have had a lot of trouble recently with international applicants but are getting through them much quicker no, so maybe hold on and see?
  6. if anyone wants me to email them with the guidelines I have from AHPRA then please PM me an email address as file is too big to send via the site. I was offered reg on Monday and was sent these from my case manager. They may not offer a lot of help, but my understanding is that we engage in employment (paid) and a plan is drawn up to develop our care.. it is very a personalised plan and it is up to the employer as to how much supervision they feel you need. I have contacted some hospitals and have had varied responses. Some don't see it being a problem and some haven't heard of it and haven't got a clue yet. The advice is to email the ministry of health/Doh in the state you are interested in and ask for clarification.. basically just to increase awareness of this stupid situation and to help the hospitals get the guidance they need from the 'powers that be'
  7. Hi Joe,Have you 'accepted' these conditions yet and had confirmation? I am a Midwife and after 10 months, had similar news. I was told it would take a further 2 days to process, but after 5 days still nothing! I know 5 days is nothing in comparison, but still frustrating, and who's to say it won't be another 2 months!
  8. Yes. I want to scream and shout and jump up and down! It's an absolute joke, they effectively say in my email that UK midwives aren't safe... how rude!
  9. After 10 months waiting I have heard today that I have to complete 12 months supervised practise before I can become properly registered. All down to the lack of completing 20 continuity of care episodes at uni and despite having caseloaded 150 women per year for 2 years! Being here on a WHV and hoping to do some agency work and move around doesn't really go well with supervised practice! Pretty gutted. Has as anyone applied for jobs or spoken to hospitals regarding supervised practice?
  10. Hi Jaws, Is there any chance you could also put me in touch with you J.O.P contact?? thanks Leeanne
