Yeh I have already tried to call them but they are closed at the weekend. I'm 7 hours away from Perth so I'll try using the phone first on Monday, get the passport pushed through if I can and get in touch with immigration. Cheers

Thanks for the reply, it won't let me complete the process with the old passport but I can't leave the country with an out of date passport. Just going to be a wait and see phone call on monday.

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone can offer any advice? My first year WHV expires on the 20th September 2014, and upon applying for the 2nd year online realised my UK passport is out of date. I have now applied for new passport but since it is saturday noone is working to answer my questions. Given that passports dont take 5 weeks to come through and a process of 21 days to apply for 2nd year visa does anyone know what I can do? Thanks

Evening all, My girlfriend and I will be arriving in Perth next Thursday after the last 3 months in Asia. We are originally from Glasgow though. We have done a fair bit of research into the job market and such like but there is only soo much you can do reading articles etc so thought we would ask for some advice. My partner works as a Child Development officer in an additional needs school and I have started working on my ACCA accountancy quals after University. We would need to do something for the 2nd year visa however, and originally we were looking into farming, pearling, fishing, mines etc. I realise the downturn in the mining industry will probably mean it would be a waste of time chasing something like that. But out of the rest be it fruit picking, station hand or likewise which of the jobs available pay the most? What areas should we head too to find the jobs(also any contacts would be appreciated). Also, could anyone recommend any good companies that sell vans, either already campers or something we can convert. Would be looking for diesel and ideally something transit like. Lastly, any games of five a side football(soccer) available? Been chocking for a game since we left Glasgow. Answers on a postcard and thanks in advance. Gordon

Well played mate, my girlfriend and I are arriving next week from Singapore on the WHV and I'm just about to post in the forum looking for any advice on regional work. How did you go about getting an in? Any chance you could PM me the details or your CV so I can have a brush up. We were looking at anything from cleaning to labouring or even getting work on trawlers etc. Your advice would be appreciated, cheers.
