  1. Hi @ali I have just re-read this thread now I'm in the process of looking for work prior to my arrival in Sydney in July this year. I'm currently a band 6 district nurse (I was a Band 7 prior to this). I've been looking into community nursing in Australia and been told it pays less than the UK? Also not sure what level to pitch my skills at, do employers decide where you are on the pay scale when they assess your experience? I'm considering aged care nursing as a possibility as not too keen to return to the wards. Thanks in advance!
  2. @Paednurseclaire I Applied 15th September, front loaded evidence, police and medicals. I was expecting to be assigned a CO and have further queries but just received emails granting the visas. Need to look for work in Sydney area now (I'm a district nurse here). Hope you hear something soon x
  3. 189 visa granted today!! All the stress of ielts, ANMAC & AHPRA finally paid off! [emoji4][emoji322]
  4. It asks for them on document checklist so added them in anyway
  5. Can anyone advise which category passport photos of each applicant should be uploaded for 189 visa application? Evidence of birth/age? Thanks
  6. Hello We lodged our application today, and i began uploading all the documents and proof. Unfortunately, I put one bit of proof in the wrong place. The IMMI site has all these headings, and there is a place for academic qualifications obtained in Australia, and one for academic qualifications obtained overseas (e.g UK). I accidentally uploaded one in the "academic qualifications obtained in Australia" section. I realised my error and uploaded a not to explain the error. I couldn't see way i could 'un upload' any documents, and i am a bit worried that I have mad a balls-up. If anyone has any helpful advice here, it would be very much appreciated! Thanks Matthew
  7. Hi I realise this is an older thread but still relevant to my current position if anyone can advise. I'm in the process of completing an EOI for skilled 189 visa (I'm a registered community nurse). I have worked for the same employer since October 2003, different jobs within the same occupation. I have only worked 3.5 years above 20 hours per week and 6 months of this was Mat leave (leaving only 29 months of work >20hours) I don't want to claim points for work experience as I can't prove I have met the requirements specified (>20 hours per week for over 3 years). Do I leave the employment part blank or tick employment details not correct on next page of EOI? ANMAC assessed my skills as average of 22 hours from Oct 2003-May 2014 but I have read this doesn't guarantee DIAC will approve the same. Don't want to take any risks of having application rejected on grounds that I can't prove work experience. Thanks
  8. Hello As a degree trained district nurse I'm awaiting the completion of my ANMAC assessment and am about to apply for AHPRA. I thought this would be a fast part of the process but reading everyone's posts I think I'm wrong!! I need to find out if I can go ahead and submit an EOI when I haven't completed my AHPRA? Thank you

Can anyone please advise- I'm getting ready to send my ahpra application but now almost complete I'm a bit confused. Do I tick box to say I've completed an approved program of study when I've completed a nursing degree in uk? I'm completing ahpra agen-40 form as I've previously been registered in Victoria. Also I don't follow the posts re. Pharmacology evidence I've been reading. Do they ask for this after application sent? All my syllabus info was sent direct to ANMAC and I'm getting them to send on to ahpra. Thanks in advance!

Just in the process of sending my ANMAC application then plan to apply to APHRA. I wanted to clarify that it is still okay to send APHRA application to any state (as opposed the the state I intend to work - NSW). Can anyone advise? Thanks
  11. That would be fine as we know we want to work in NSW area. Would we have to wait until July when NSW opens again for nominations before we could do this?
  12. Thanks for clarifying. Will just claim the 5 points for 3 years work experience and get swotting for the academic IELT's. Reassuring to know you can always re-sit the general test if I don't make 8 on the academic. Looking a practice tests it looks harder than I thought! Points I have are 25-age, 10 or 20 - Language, 5- employment, 15 - qualifications (poss extra points for my husband who is a graphic designer) so fingers crossed make those points to apply.
  13. That's good to hear! I'm worried I won't quite make the 60 at the moment unless I obtain 8+ on each part of the IELTs I sit next month Thanks. Good luck with yours
  14. Hello I'm a district nurse hoping to emigrate to New South Wales on a 189 visa with my husband & 3 children. I think I have the steps I need to complete (IELT's, ANMAC & AHPRA) organised however I'm concerned now I've looked closely at the points I need to obtain for this visa. Though I've been a nurse for over 15 years within the last 10 years, since having my children, I have worked part time (17.5 contracted hours per week), only working over 20 hours per week for 3 years during this period. Declaring this information dramatically lowers my overall points within the Skilled Employment category (down to 5 when I hoped it would be 15). I know it's probably unlikely but I was wondering if there is any way of getting my years of skilled employment acknowledged for the application even though they are below 20 hours? Any advice welcome! Reconsidering my decision not to use a migration agent at the moment... Thank you in advance Nicola
