  1. Don't panic.... you can apply for 870 after 143 but not the other way around. What you have done is perfectly fine
  2. No they don’t answer individual emails otherwise they wouldn’t get anything else done. Just hold tight. If that’s all they needed I would guess you would hear something in the next 2-4 weeks.
  3. Don’t be worried they have looked at your paperwork by the sounds of it. Realised something is missing so requested it. Now they just need to acknowledge they’ve received it by contacting you to let you know you have a queue date now they have everything they need. They’ve only been issuing queue dates for a few weeks now. It’s a new process.
  4. Your bullet point are correct but the dates are wrong. It’s June 2018. Anyone before so up to and including 31/5/2018 queue date is application date. Anyone after so 1st June 2018 onwards will have their application assessed and given a queue date. My parents applied 28/6/2018 and just got a queue date of 29/4/21.
  5. I’ve spoken to the migration agent about this. It doesn’t really change anything for us wait time wise. What it illustrates is that time is of the essence when making your application and ensuring that everything is correct, complete and ready to go. Basically it means their application has been looked at, assessed and approved to enter the queue. If paperwork is missing it will delay future applications entering the queue. All the more reason to use an agent I guess so your application gets into the queue at the earliest possible date.
  6. Hi Alan I'm looking for some advice. I apologise if the answer is already in the current thread. I'm a midwife from the UK currently residing in Australia as a permanent resident. I have been here nearly 2 years now. I am an only child and my parents wish to emigrate to Australia when my grandparents are no longer around. So sometime in the next few years as they are quite elderly. I did some research before I left the UK and understand there are 2 ways of going with this. I just can't decide which route to take. My parents could spend most of their savings on the contributory parent visa but I would prefer them not to have to obviously. I heard through a friend that they were reducing the waiting times on the other parent sponsored visa, is there any truth in this do you know? or would we be looking at 15+ years do you think? I understand that you can only advise and things can change I just wondered if you had an opinion on our situation. Kind thanks in advance Sandiepops28
