hi ladies
sorry to jump on the band wagon but i was so interested in your posts and i wanted to ask a few questions..... my hubby and i are also from Northern Ireland and have been to oz twice in the last 5 years, moving across was something we've wanted to do since we first stepped foot in Melbourne........ since then we had a beautiful daughter who is starting primary 1 tomorrow anyway my hubby has been offered a job with a company from rural queensland, who will get him 457 visa, the only problem is we are so undecided about what the future holds for us, now it could be reality and not just a dream the fear has kicked in and we don't know what to do for the best, especially for our little girl!!! like you said lou, support network at home is great and also taken for granted, our daughter has loads of cousins around her and is happy with her life and we wonder how we would cope if it was just the three of us??? also we never thought we would move with just one child and we didn't want her to be lonely, but for reasons beyond my control we are in a one child situation and don't want to let it control our future plans and stop us from possibly making the biggest exciting move of our lives.
the inch is there and we are worried if we don't scratch it we will regret it in later years!!! like anyone who dreams of oz we would like close to good schools and shops and nice housing and preferably close to the coast but as the job offer is in rural queensland we are unsure if it will be living the dream or if we should use the opportunity to get over there and experience it.
huge decision but life throws these curve balls and we need to make a decision either way soon before it completely drives me nuts!!!!
(sorry for rambling)
