  1. Application in November. Co assigned just before Christmas, grant on 29/1/14. Very speedy
  2. Our grant came through this morning. Good luck to everyone still awaiting the all important email from their case officer. A big THANK YOU to this forum for the support and advice
  3. RIGHT! I've had another go (bit like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole) I think I have now sorted it, I put the date of his skill assessment and the date he received his letter as the end date. Victoria university as the college (this is the awarding body) and the UK as the college venue as this is where he did the skill assessment. We have the paperwork to back it all up and it's now assigned the correct point to the EOI. Phew!
  4. Thanks for the reply. We've had skills assessed through pathway 1 in order to gain an appropriate trade qualification, which we now have. There just doesn't seem to be anywhere to log this in the eoi. It has a drop down for other trade qual but then it want dates and doesn't accept the certificate title we input! Very frustrating! I just don't want to be submitting incorrect information and risk losing the visa . It's not 100% clear and wants more information than we can provide from the certificate provided?
  5. Almost there but we have stumbled with the EOI eduction section. Following a successful skill assessment we have a trade qualification awarded. This can be used to claim 10 points in the education section: "You have attained a qualification or award recognised by the relevant assessing authority in determining your skills for your nominated occupation" Seems clear, but how/where do we show this on the EOI? There is a section but it wants the study centre and study dates as required fields and we are not sure how to proceed? Any guidance would be appreciated
  6. Moobobs, thank you for your reply and am really pleased for you that your EOI has been lodged x
  7. Well we all went to London (kids in tow) and it all went very well. It was an assessment over Skype for 40 odd mins. It was technical but he knows his field of work . Now on to IELTs then we can submit our EOI

  9. Thank you for all the quick replies. We are taking our visa application one step at a time, dealing with the skill assessment first. Looking at the whole picture and what was required was becoming a bit over whelming, especially when I'm working 1 full time and 1 part time job and with 2 children! Its taken us months to pull all the evidence and documentation together and to get this far, with my husbands technical assessment due this Thursday YEAH! I will start pulling some info together for him regarding the IELTS so he can start brushing up on this then, as we will need these points for our application. Thank you
  10. Thank you for that. I just wanted to put his mind at ease, its horrible not knowing what you are walking in to. He should be fine then but I will get him to brush up on the safety side- fingers crossed for Thursday.
  11. Is this an actual requirement to take the IELTS tests as I was under the impression that minimum points were granted (10) if the applicants first language is English and they have a passport from the UK? I have noticed a few people on here talking about uploading their IELTS results from the UK and wondered if this was because it was an actual requirement or they just needed it for the extra points? I researched all of this a few months back and I was sure we would be awarded the 10 points as we come from the UK but I know it changes every July? :skeptical:
  12. Pathway 1: My husband has applied for a skill assessment under the welder (first class) job description. Our paper submission has been accepted and he has now been invited for a Technical Assessment in London. I'm sorry if there are other post on this but I have looked and can only find very little on practical assessments and interviews?! My husband has been welding for 13+ years and has been trained/mentored by one of the best welders in the south west but has no formal qualifications (just codings). He is feeling the pressure that if all goes wrong and he doesn’t pass our dream stops here - even though he is brilliant and can do it and even if he doesn’t its all good. I want to support him as much as I can and was hoping someone who has gone through the technical assessment for there skill set could provide an outline of the process and what to expect from the day or if someone has undertaken the Welder (first class) technical assessment could provide some insight I must admit I though it would be either/or a Technical Interview or Practical and am unsure what the technical assessment would involve. He has only been asked to provide ID and its in the middle of London (Oxford Street) Any help/support on this would be great
