  1. If you got a CO in OCt 2013 did they not ask for your pcc and medicals then? When we got our case officer, an email was sent to us to introduce herself to us and with this email came three attachments. In that she clearly stated what was needed for us (like pcc and medicals) and that we had 28 days to submit it. South Africa takes very long with police clearance so I forwarded her our proof of application and told her it would probably only come in 2 months. Well, two months later it came, we submitted it and the next day we got our visa. We also did the medicals in the mean time. Just double check all the detail the CO sent...ask your agent to send you the emails, as they were supposed to tell you what is needed from the CO. I would think that you should do your medicals and pcc...seriously ask your agent to forward you the email from the CO. I have also noticed that applicants from certain countries have a longer wait after they submitted their final documents. But you actually have to first submit your outstanding documents before you will hear anything again.
  2. The entry date that expires in12 months is only the time you have to first enter the country and activate your visa. Then it is valid for 5 years as permanent resident. What happens after 5 years when the visa expires? Do you get another one? Ps. I actually got my visa today so we are super excited!
  3. We submitted our pcc yesterday and got our visa today!!!!!!! Logged inthis morning and read the lovely words " applicant approved" Visa 175- nov 2008
  4. What is the link to the VEVO site? I don't know about that one, only the electronic application status page
  5. Yes, also wanted to ask what the date was for your police clearance and your medicals. Those are the factors in determining when your last entry date will be. They are both valid for 12 months, but they take the first one's date as the start of the 12 months congratz on the visa!!! It has been a long time coming
  6. WELL DONE!!! CONGRATZ!!! We submitted our PCC today as the last thing they needed....but the police department did not include my maiden name on it.....lets hope this is not a problem!
  7. The problem is that not many of our applications are on the new list so we would not be able to apply for the new 189 visa. We just just made the list and was thus placed in category 5....all the categories before us got their visa's very quickly. They actually don't need our applications so much any more, that is why we are not an urgent group. This is also the reason we really can't get annoyed with the department as they are at least still giving us the option of getting there, instead of just saying, sorry...your occupation is not on the list any more...here is your refund. I am one of the oldies....visa 175 and was placed in category 5 (there is no category 6:wub:) we have been waiting for 5 years and 2 month...at least we have a CO, but we are now waiting for our PCC that is also a mission and taking FOREVER!
  8. We lodged nov 2008 and got CO 9 dec 2013. Dont see anything on my application page to say that i have a co. I only got the email from the co. They are moving very fast with thw 175. My suggestion would be to go ahead and do your pcc and medicals if you applied before feb 2009. This way they will have everything they need and possibly just issue a visa without a co. I read of a few people where this happened to them
  9. well done you guys!!!!! @ Kutsu...be happy you did not have to apply for your RSA pcc! We got our CO a week before you and did our medicals the next day......we are still waiting for our PCC to come back. To think we could have received our visa by now :arghh: So glad they are all approving more visa's!
  10. I know of a few people on the old 175 visa that did their medicals and got their visa 3 weeks later. The medicals should not take longer than a month if nothing is wrong. If the medical panel picks up an issue...something like heart problems, diabetes, autism, cancer etc. they will refer the medicals to a specialist panel for further assessment to see if you will then be a burden on the Australian medical system. This could take another month or two for them to make a decision. From what I heard is that you don;t know that your medical has been referred. Some people just waited very long and when they made an inquiry they were told that their medicals were referred for further assessment by specialists. So it did not seem that they received any notification about it, nothing you can do or re-do, as they have the final say to clear the medicals.
  11. We did our medicals in RSA on 11 Dec and it was received and finalised on 13 Dec according to the online system. It is all done via e-medical, so if nothing is wrong, then it does not have to be referred...this can take another month or so
  12. Kimmo......would it be possible for you to put the date of CO and date of grant on your list? This would give us an indication of how long people are waiting for the grant, after CO has been assigned. Mine would be South African Nov 2008 (CO -Dec 2013, Grant - date) If you are keen to help, then perhaps everyone can send their detail again in the above format (or the way you choose), then you don't need to go back and search for the info?
  13. whoop whoop for the nov team, well done!!!! We also Nov 2008......got CO, lets chase the visa now!
  14. congrats!!!! Keep us all up to date with your progress!
