  1. Hi, didn't go thru in the September 7 round.. hoping for October 5 round. But why is it not official yet? Why is the September 7 round results not updated??? Anyone got a clue, coz I want to check the 60 point cut off date for Sept 7 round?
  2. Yep.. since a few hours back.. it either means they are updating, or something more sinister.. i wouldn't put past anything from DIBP now!
  3. I guess at the moment they are just finishing up the few 886 applications they allocated earlier, but got stuck due to end of financial year. If they'd started allocating 886 or 176 again, we'd probably know. As to why a September 2010 was allocated (and granted now) and you haven't head since April 2010 I don't know, but could it be because of online and paper application? Paper application I reckon lags online by few months usually.. anyway good luck man, try calling them may be?
  4. Ok I emailed to both the email address too. Didn't modify anything, all our plights are pretty much the same, just put in my name and file number. Hope this will have at least some positive outcome. Cheers to all.
  5. I am not sure about this, but I heard it from people. If the PCC is not being awarded due to circumstances out of your control, then you can provide evidence that you tried to your best ability to get it (like "jvkster" pointed out, application receipt or something), then you write a statute of declaration (a letter), in which you pledge that you have never been involved in any criminal act and your police records are clear. I guess you could ask a migration agent about this since they work with many applications, or ask the DIBP or your CO directly about this option. Hope this helps. Cheers.
  6. You are looking at a different thing mate. That is for family migration, which is different. Our is just a sponsored category, but it is skilled migration. As you said in your second post, 886/176 all USED TO BE in the "Skilled Australian sponsored7" category before ("Includes brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, non-dependent children, working age parents, grandchildren and first cousins who have been skill tested"). Since last year, they have JOINED our category with the "State/territory sponsored" from before, to a NEW CATEGORY called "State/territory and regional nominated8" ("8 State/territory sponsored and Skilled Australian sponsored (Skilled Independent Regional) categories have been amalgamated into State/territory and regional nominated category since 2013–14").
  7. That is indeed great news. Especially for immigration to say that themselves. Always when you post VANDDIR1, I expect good news coz our applications are only a couple weeks apart. And this is certainly positive news. May all of us get to hear good news soon, and we two probably around the same time
  8. Yep its definitely a bit expensive. But was my only choice. I had done a tafe diploma only back in 2008 and applied using that (thats why I was only eligible for offshore so I left aus and applied from home country). But I couldn't wait longer. I had to complete my bachelor degree so I came. Working hard atm to earn as much fees! And yes if 176 doesn't come till end of my course next year, I'll apply for 190 coz after my bachelor I'll be eligible. Anyway lets hope good news comes my way before that.
  9. As dyanne pointed out, 176 state sponsored are not in cat5. Also, all 176 are offshore. Some may have come to Aus after applying on some other visa (like I am on student visa and in Aus although offshore), but all 176 are offshore. 886 FS is its onshore equivalent. It was like 885 and 886 onshore independent and sponsored respectively, and 175 and 176 its offshore versions. The difference then when we applied was that 885 and 886 (onshore) apps would be done from Aus and the applicants would get bridging visa. Offshore 175 and 176 would have to either apply from outside, or if the applicant is applying from Aus then no bridging visa so would have to go back once their visa (whatever they were on) would expire. Anyway, in about a weeks time the allocation table update is due. Remember those times when they did nothing with the allocation tables for months and months? That was when they were totally ignoring us cat 5 applicants and could not show their face. Finally when they started processing 885s, they started updating the table, and from fortnightly they made it monthly. Now I am thinking, if they are starting on FS 176/886, they'll have something to update (fingers crossed!), otherwise they have already put on the table that 885 and 175 "all allocated", so what will they update? Will they just change the date of update may be? Or they might again start ignoring us like before. Hope our turn comes.
  10. well, what with this and that going on, and onshores getting cleared, i was hoping that offshore would finally start this year.. but all these rumors mentioned here makes me feel quite negative now.. m in australia as a student and being an international student m already paying lots of fees to the uni here, and i don't have a choice of applying another category until i graduate next year.. so i reckon for me, its waiting till next year, and if this seems aloof still, applying in the new 190 category.. since i have to wait till then anyway, still hoping for good news on 176..
  11. I don't know specifically for your wife, but I had no problem for myself. I went back from Aus and applied for 176 (offshore, so no bridging visa) in 2008. Since I had to wait for so long, in 2012 I applied for a student visa to come to Aus. I had mentioned in the student visa app about my 176 application. In the interview they asked me about it, and I told them I did apply for a PR but since it's been stuck for a very long time with still no prospect, I cannot hold my further studies longer as I was wasting years waiting. They gave me the student visa. Now m in Aus on a student visa, still waiting for my 176.. So it shouldn't be a problem. Hope it helped, cheers. And guys no movement yet with 176, or other FS categories. Sincerely hoping for something positive soon
  12. Hey man, you are talking about "increasing" quota which implies the existing quota (although much smaller compared to non FS categories, but not zero) should have either been already exhausted or about to be. My point is, however little it may be, there's some quota allocated to our category this year, and as far as I remember since the beginning of this financial year (which is July 2013), there hasn't been any movement in FS categories, so the little quota we have should be intact shouldn't it?? I may be wrong, and I may not have noticed some movement if there was any with 886 in the beginning months, but other FS categories haven't moved a bit since beginning of financial year, and as many have pointed out in this forum that the DIBP apparently tends to usually process FS in the last few months of the financial year. So may be there'll be some allocation? Hope!!
  13. Very true dyanne.. good to be optimists. I think we have all gone past the being pessimistic time now have we not!! But having already waited for more than half a decade, I reckon being positive that now finally they are moving with cat 5 and our turns will come soon is the only way ahead.. We being positive or negative about it does not change how DIBP processes the apps, but it certainly change how all of us here feel.. keep up hope guys, like gagan said, hopefully they are starting on us FS now.. april just began
  14. That's great news mate. You are just 11 days ahead of my application so fingers crossed that both of us will be getting some good news soon
