  1. Hi wrussell, Yes, definitely, im considering the help of a migration agent. But before i do get one, i just wanna clear things in mind first. I have no problem with my BE in Electrical Engineering assessed by EA. Though my engineering consultancy job applies all engineering knowledge i have acquired, i just have doubts on whether my engineering consultancy work experience will gain positive assessment from EA because EA's MSA booklet specifies that the job must be held full time by an applicant and must be regularly paid (like receiving a monthly salary). However not all consultant engineers are full time in their jobs and nor they have monthly salary, because some are paid only when they are given projects. So in this case, does an engineering consultancy job with this nature still merits a positive assessment from EA? My employer gives me a monthly salary though as consultant engineer, however im apprehensive as EA might not believe me as most consultant engineers dont have regular salaries because it is not all the time that they have projects which they can be paid about. So ultimate question boils to whether engineering consultancy jobs such as this can gain positive assessment from EA. I will welcome any idea.
  2. Hi wrussell and everyone, Sorry for the vague question. Pls allow me to rephrase it. Im an electrical engineer by educational qualification, but im regularly employed as consultant engineer in a firm. Ive known some consultant engineers, but they are not regularly working in the industries or firms that hire them, they only work their when there are projects assigned to them. In my understanding (do correct me if i am wrong) Engineers Australia only accepts regular and paid jobs only for positive assessment. They might not believe im regularly employed by my firm as most consultant engineers do not have regular employment with firms or industries. My question is, do they consider engineering consultancy jobs as a regular paid job, will i gain favorable assessment from Engineers Australia? Thank you.
  3. Hi everybody, How are engineering consultancy jobs assessed by Engineers Australia (EA), regular employment, paid, or salaried job? When can it be assessed as regular, paid or salaried job? Can it gain favorable assessment points from EA? I hope to get ideas from you. Thanks.
  4. Hi Savithru, We seem to have similar situations about our experiences, i am a practicing electrical engineer, but i also have a teaching job. May i ask if you submitted to Engineers Australia both your engineering and teaching skills experiences for assessment, or was it only your engineering skills? Did you get a good assessment result? I heard from some, that those with engineering and teaching jobs got poor assessment from Engineers Australia. And even they get favorable assessment from Engineers Australia, they eventually failed in Australia's Department of Immigration and Citizenship. Have you heard the same things also? I hope we can exchange ideas. Ill also be happy if those in the forum could join us in this conversation. Thank you very much.
