  1. Thanks for for the info will check it out!
  2. Hi Everybody I am an admitted solicitor in E & W and am looking to move to Melbourne soon. I have already been granted a visa as I also hold a teaching qualification. I want to re-qualify as an Australian lawyer but was wondering if anyone could shed some light on job prospects in Melbourne as a paralegal and the possibility of sponsorship to re-qualify. My background is in high-street law such as Family Law, not corporate. Many thanks
  3. Hi everyone, Need advice about job prospects for a chemistry teacher in Melbourne. I have been granted 189 visa, have completed NQT year in UK and worked as a supply/relief due to lack of permanent roles, but don't enjoy supply work. What are the prospects for getting full time or part time work in Melbourne / outer suburbs? thanks
  4. Hi I would like to transition into a career in HR. I have already had visa 189 granted and am going to be moving to Melbourne. I was wondering if anyone had advice on the best way to go about it. I understand that I will need to start as a HR Assistant and then work myself up. Any advice greatly appreciated. thanks Grace5
  5. Thanks Rossco2810 - great to know, takes the pressure off if teaching jobs are hard to secure. Cheers!

  7. Hi Just wondering if anyone can help with this question: if someone who is a teacher has a 189 granted and can't secure full employment, can they do some other job in the meantime e.g. an admin job or some job as a gap filler - is that permitted on a 189 visa? Sorry if. This seems like a stupid question, just would like to know in case of worst case... thanks

  9. Thanks Wolvesaussie for sharing your (& your girlfriend's) experience. Yes, I guess I am feeling the pressure at moment. It's always the same with advertised jobs, in UK too, often they are just going through the motions, when they already have someone lined up. It's frustrating though. Just got to keep looking and hoping, although I suspect I may need a back-up plan, just to earn some money until I secure something full-time/regular. I think you're right though, it will be worth it.
  10. Thanks Rosiew, that's a shame, as we were hoping to explore Moving To Melbourne's services for our move. Guess it's back to drawing board!
