  1. Hi Adam what criteria constitutes "eligible Temporary Resident" to enable one to purchase a property. If I'm on an evisitor for 12 months waiting for CPV PR can I purchase a property outright?
  2. Thanks so much for that.... Very much appreciated. Our son has been resident/working in Oz for 2 years and just got PR approved via company sponsorship. If I am reading this link right ?? (Sorry if I'm labouring the question but find it confusing)....as he is now an Australian PR, is the "settled" period the time since his arrival in Oz to gaining his PR? Or from date PR granted? milo [h=2]Sponsorship[/h]All applicants for parent migration must be sponsored. At the time the visa application is made, the sponsor must be a 'settled' Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or 'eligible New Zealand citizen'. 'Settled' means a person must have been a resident in Australia for a reasonable period, which under policy is usually two years.
  3. Hi thanks for the replies, We didn't realise there was a waiting period 1 or 2 years?? after "child" obtained PR... that makes a big difference to our time plan. Can anyone confirm wait time please? Regarding the 600 visa is there a substantial cost for this and can you have in conjunction with the 143 CPV thanks again Prince milo
  4. Hi first post on PIO, been reading posts in anticipation of our application for Cont Parent Visa. We note the price has gone up a further 5% this year.... They don't make it easy do they ! My OH and I plan to join our only child in Melbourne, who has just received his PR. We aim to retire in Dec 16. From previous threads the time frames for visa approval Is up to 12 months .. How long is the granted visa active? We're optimistic that medicals and background checks will be straightforward. Any other parents out there that can offer advice and tips would be great ? on how they coped with the move!! as the thought of this process is daunting. We have already chewed over the various visa options and the only viable one appears to be CPV subclass 143 for our situation. Any affordable suggested areas to retire in Melbourne surrounding areas (up to 1 hour from South Yarra) ?? We're going on a recci later this year to look at areas to consider...good transport links to CBD and strong community for newbies to integrate.
