  1. I think this is a question that is best answered by your ACT case officer. Tell them that you misunderstood the application requirements and would like to provide further evidence of job availability. If you are lucky they just might accept your request; my experience tells me that case officers are very understanding and helpful, at least in the ACT :-)
  2. If you apply for 190 visa, you get automatic invitation when you are nominated by the state. In case of ACT, as evidence of employability, you need to provide job ads that do NOT require security clearance - that is what I did to get nominated by ACT.If a particular job requires security clearance, it will do so in any state. The trick is to identify the jobs that do ask for a security clearance and only provide those as job availability evidence.
  3. Thanks for your reply. Q1: Does this mean that I should only list employments after 2012 in the EOI?
  4. Hi...Hope you are doing well. I have 2 questions. Question 1: My skills were verified by the ACS (Australian Computer Society) and below is their response: "The following employment after September 2012 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 135112" Now, I have been working since 2008 and the ACS has also considered those (employment between 2008 to 2012) to be relevant. But then they also have mentioned the above. Hence, given this scenario, which employment(s) should I list in the Employment section (page 10 of 14) of the EOI? Question 2: Excluding "Professional year", is there any requirement that I should be employed continuously for 12 months in the last 24 months?

    Error in EOI

Thanks for your replies guys...Do you think I should contact ACT and explain what has happened? Is there anyway they can cancel the current invite, allow me to correct the EOi, and then send me the re-invite? Has anyone tried such a path before?

    Error in EOI

Hey guys... Was really hoping that someone can help me with some information at a critical time. Here is the the scenario: I accounted for 65 points in the EOI, applied for ACT nomination and got nominated. Hence, I also got invitation in SkillSelect to apply for visa. However, silly me has now realized that I have wrongly interpreted the ACS (Australian Computer Society) response and shouldn't have claimed the 5 points for work experience (I haven't used the services of a lawyer). For obvious reasons I want to have the error corrected before I lodge the visa application - what are my options at this stage? Thanks in advance for your help!
  7. Thanks for your reply Paul. Well, I realize that I need to get the visa and job first, so, my question really is, if I have the visa and get a job offer will I be eligible for Baseline clearance and hence, will I be able to show such job adverts (that require Baseline Clearance) as evidence of job availability in my application for state nomination?
  8. Hi all I am trying to apply for the 190 visa and hence I need nomination. As part of applying for state nomination, I need to provide evidence of available jobs. Now, a lot of the jobs on the job sites require a "Baseline Security Clearance". So, my question is, given my resident status with the 190 visa, am I eligible for the "Baseline Security Clearance"? Can anyone please point me to a website/resource where I can find information on this? Thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks for your replies guys. Just to be sure, I will put the question in a slightly different way: Since, ACS says "...has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Bachelor Degree with a major in computing", how many points can I expect?
  10. Hi guys I was hoping that you can help me resolve a confusion. Below is the response I got from ACS regarding my skill assessment: Thank you for your ICT skills assessment which was received by the Australian Computer Society on x March xxxx. Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under xxxxxx (xx Manager) of the ANZSCO Code. Your qualification has been assessed as follows: Your Bachelor of Science in Computing from University of Wales completed July 20xx has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Bachelor Degree with a major in computing So, my questions are: 1. How many points can I expect for my degree? 2. The image below is from the EOI - which option should I select? Is the one highlighted in blue the correction option? 3. Why isn't "Honours Degree in Science..." the correct option for me? Thanks in advance for your help!
