  1. Thank you for your input I will need to do a bit more research on the 600 visa options.
  2. Food for thought. Perhaps visiting for up to 90 days at a time and if possible a couple of times a year may be our initial option. Appreciate your input.
  3. Thank you for your information we will look into the 600 visa . Would be happy to have more info on other options, can we stay in Australia while waiting for visa to be processed... 20 years ? What health problems would go against us eg fibromyalgia.
  4. We are early retired grandparents and would like to discover all our options for a move / extended visits to Australia. We would be grateful for any input as to the pros and cons and explanation of the different visas suitable for us. We are 61&62 . Missing our family in oz but still have family in uk .
  5. Hi it is a quite a while since i was on this site and yours was the first thing I read. My husband and myself are Grandparents to two girls age 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 . The" little family" moved to Oz just over a year ago. NOW I want you to know I love my "little family" and save every penny can to come over to oz to see them. I spoke to my daughter in law before they moved and explained , now she became our new family member when she married my son ,she has her own very precious "family" and now that has been added to by having our grand children the" little family" is her own , and we as grandparents are so privileged to be part of the" little family" and are so grateful to them for letting us share in all their lives. I believe it would be unforgivable and very arrogant for my husband and I to Expect or demand anything from the "little family" because they are their own new unit and we have to put in as gently as we can our love and support for them all to have a wonderful life. That is not to say I break my heart as it is so far away and I am not in the best of health to travel..but you know what I CHOOSE to get on with it , be happy , positive and look at each day as a plus and Skype as a bonus. So I know I am blethering on but I feel so much for you you Choose what you think to be best for your wee family and good for you. stick together as a unit , you in-laws Chose what they wanted to do in their life so let them get on with it . I have told my daughter-in-law to adopt a Granny in oz and the children will have even more joy in their lives. well better stop now so be supportive of each other don't allow negativity to rock your together decisions and good luck in oz xoxoxo
  6. Thank you I will investigate what will be near to us , great ideas.
  7. We will be in the Chelsea area, but mobile. Thank you for taking time to reply.
  8. Thank you for your quick reply. The children love animals so I thought they would enjoy an animal farm or something like that. They cannot spend everyday rolling around the floor! A quick visit to the seaside and a lovely messy ice cream, I'm a Grandparent so that's OK mess washes off. I change nappies on my knee and any where as quick as a flash so that will not be a deterrent either. Dodgy weather is ok too they are not made of sugar. Any more suggestion now?? Please.
