Hi all, My family and I have recently moved to oz on a 189 visa. We are currently in a short term rental in chermside, however need to find a longer term rent with a view of buying after 6months. we are keen to stay north side, my partner has work in fortitude valley but will be driving in, looking at no more than a 45min-1hour (ideally less) commute. Not too fussed about being close to the city and ideally looking for somewhere with a good state primary school (friendly/good community as oppose to just academic results), parks/outside things to do with the children, and somewhere we can afford after renting! (Looking at about $400k mark, queen slander style house). Thought being here would help make the decision easier, if anything we feel even more overwhelmed! Not sure whether to head nearer to the coast - or more inland west or North! Some of the suburbs mentioned to us have been: sandgate, shorncliffe, nudgee, nundah, wooloowin, if anyone has any ideas or lists of places to avoid that would be great! At least we can narrow our search a little! Time is ticking to locate a school particularly, so we are keen to get moving asap. Thank-you in advance people! ??

Hi guys, my family and I (husband, plus 1 son who is 7yrs and a 10month old daughter) arrived in Brisbane last Friday! We are planning on heading to the river fire on Saturday (not sure where abouts exactly yet)! We are looking for a long term rental and a school (feeling slightly overwhelmed and unsure of where to go), maybe we can meet up with you guys too? Hi guys, My partner and I started our application last year, a few months in we fell pregnant with our second child. Long story short we had to put our application on hold until baby was born and had birth certificate and passport etc etc so visas were finally approved end of March, however we need to leave the UK by mid August 2015!! we have two children who will be aged 7 and 8months in August and are planning on moving to Brisbane, we are looking to ship our furniture and belongings over too. we also have a large dog (weimaranar) who will be coming too........ where do we start! I seem to spend time on forums searching for info then become so overwhelmed by the helpful advice and a little panicky about how little time we have that I am getting nowhere! We are keeping our house in the UK and have someone lined up to rent it when we move, we are just waiting for the remortgage to go through also (which will enable us to pay for everything). What should we book and organise first? Is this even possible in this time frame? (it has to be we've no other option)!! Thank you all so much for reading/commenting, your help will be very much appreciated! (Failing that a good slap to snap out of the panick and get things moving)!

Hi, I am in the same situation (baby born end of November), our case worker said we needed to complete a change in circumstances form, they recommended form 'change of address/passport form' form number 929. However this form does not seem to fit our criteria as no space to add our babies details? It seems to be a form for notifying of changes to passport details as oppose to notifying of an additional person. Can you advise what form you completed and if there is an alternative form we need to be completing than the one recommended? Thank-you for your help i'm a little confused (lack of sleep isn't helping either! :SLEEP:)

We were allocated a case worker a week before the baby was due and we advised them of our due date. Our application was put on hold so we can undertake our medicals once baby has arrived (though first we needed to register her and then apply for a passport).
