  1. It seems that actually it is $5k for each main applicant. My concern is that even thou the lawyer would win on this particular "cap and cease", DIBP will find another way and 6 months later kill it once again. And this time with all their homework done, so no risk of any law suit again. This is my main fear. Once they broke my confidence in being fair, I can't trust them anymore that they could do the right thing.
  2. Hi! Sadly I received the doomed letter a few hours ago. Now I just regret I didn't listen to my big brother (my sponsor) 4-5 years ago when he said to check and try other options. I was too afraid I would end up in another queue by other legislative changes. It was a wake up call for me showing me that injustice and lies are made even in a country which seemed to me as having a spine. Everywhere it is all about politics, manipulation and reality distortion. I am disgusted and question my willing of ever going to Australia, not even as a tourist. I am just full of mixed feelings now...
  3. I have the "assessment in progress" status since May 2012. I didn't receive either the email from DIBP with cap and cease. Maybe they need time to sort them out. It is what they do best, "take their time".
  4. Just before they've changed the table to "not currently allocating", last date of processing published was 18 January 2008 for 176FS online applications.
  5. My application has also "Assessment in Progress" status.
  6. 30.05.2008, online, 176 FS (cat5), offshore, ASCO 2299-79; High risk country; 22.05.2012 - app. processed further; 05.06.2012 - checked by phone employment details; I checked where is my name and all documents, but I didn't see anything looking like your message.
  7. Hmm...interesting. Mine is still showing "in progress" however, when looking to "Next steps" section I see the list of my documents and their status as "received". Last week when I checked, at the section "next steps" I had the message "No next steps available". At the end of this week, if they update the allocation table, maybe we will understand more. Or maybe not.
  8. I can not believe that I was finally able to import my application in the ImmiAccount. I can not believe that I was so sure my data were correct. Eventually, I decided not to relay again on data from my autofill form and checked them again, letter by letter and digit by digit. Actually, I had one wrong digit in my passport info. Aghhh... Now I can see again.
  9. Here is the link of the last summer discussions, when some of us have written to minister's office. In the middle of this page you will find the post of Arshad with the title "Attention All 176 FSers! (and anyone else who is interested)" http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/118718-new-category-5s-where-you-now-889.html
  10. That information is there since 28.02.2014 (see info at bottom page: Last reviewed Friday 28 February 2014) The priority group 5 means also 175/885 visa types, which indeed, continued to be allocated. However for 176FS/886 visa type, this info doesn't mean anything as long as there is still the message "not currently allocated" written in the allocation table.
  11. From my point of view there is a big difference between clearing/processing/CO allocation and visa grant. What they write on the immi site that they have reached for processing a certain month means that they've allocated CO. The way case officers are doing their part on one hand and applicants theirs on the other hand (requesting and providing further documents) which lead to visa grant is another story. The duration after first contact from CO until visa is granted depends on other factors, not the application date. This is just my logic thinking.
  12. The old system of online status inquiry is no longer available. It redirects me to ImmiAccount. Unfortunately, I am not able to import my application. It gives me the error: "no application matching the data entered has been found. Please check the information and try again". For sure all my data were correct, so now I am completely blindfolded about status of my application. On this link with FAQ I found out that applications lodged before 22.11.2008 can't be imported to immiAccount. http://www.immi.gov.au/faqs/Pages/How-can-I-see-my-General-Skilled-Migration-application-in-the-drop-down-list-in-the-ImmiAccount-.aspx They refer mainly to 476, 485, 887. However, the information is from January and at that time in the droplist of General Skilled Migration on the immiAccount I didn't have the possibility of choosing 176 visa type. Now I have, but with no use. Can one of you who lodged on 176 type before 22.11.2008 and another one who lodged after 22.11.2008 check your immiAccount to see if you are able to import your application? Please let me know about the result. Thanks.
  13. If you are so determined to kill people's enthusiasm and hopes, at least give a link to the official information, so others can judge for themselves what the information is about. http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/family-visas-other.htm As sophie1219 already mentioned, the updates are for family visas type, not Skilled Migration Visa - Family Sponsored subclass. There is a huge difference between these two.
