  1. That's right brana. Had uploaded all relevant documents already. Thus 189 visa was directly granted without any correspondence with Co. A lot of people are getting direct grants as to what I see in the forums. All the best to all.
  2. Hi, got direct grant today from adelaide team 2. Applied on 4th aug 2014. Occupation - Ships officer.
  3. Have today recieved direct grant for 189 visa... .. Thanks a lot to everyone for their very valuable help throughout.
  4. Hey captain c, what is the source of this info? Would like to give the entire thing a good read. I've already submitted pcc from Denmark (I have sailed only on Danish ships)but not submitted the sea service letters stating good conduct. Will upload all of them as well. I expect a CO to be allocated within next 2_3 weeks.. But it's strange as to how I've missed out on these guidelines about pcc from flag state(only read about pcc reqt on this forum hence asked one from Denmark ). Now this sea service letter from master(with good conduct stated) is another thing I didn't knew .... Thanks a lot anyways.. . Please share/pm /email the link to these seafarer specific guidelines from dibp.
  5. Cpt p : AFAIK you can apply as ships master. I am currently sailing as 2nd mate with Indian chief mate license and I successfully appeared for amsa chief mates cor orals.. So should not be a problem for you too...
  6. Hi guys, Cleared my mates COR orals today from Sydney. As mentioned earlier in this topic it was quite a serious exam covering not only aus regs but the complete syllabus for mates COC. Thorough preparations/revision of entire syllabus is required. My orals lasted full 2 hours from 1200 to 1400, becoming the longest I have ever been through so far and definitely was longer than I had expected. I have Only done container vessels so far but was asked questions from containers/bulk/oil Tankers. Anyways all said and done. Finally the major hurdle is cleared. Special thanks to CaptainR and captainC for providing their questions and reference materials. Though theirs was for masters but still very helpful. Highly appreciate the help. Thanks again. The only problem now is that I am boarding ship next week and will return in mid Aug. Will have to appear for Ielts and eventually apply for visa in sept/Oct. Just hoping that the Ships officer stays on the SOL next year as well. Any one has any ideas or info about this?
  7. Hi, I've applied to amsa for immigration Qualification assessment as a Chief Mate and am currently awaiting there reply. Is there anyone who has experience of appearing in CoR oral in SYDNEY?? Plan to give exam there in April if I get a reply to my application by then , otherwise I'll go onboard and appear later in august/September. Any info about orals in SYDNEY will be appreciated. I can see most of the people here prefer Perth... Is there a reason that? Thanks..
  8. Hey,I'm done with my initial assessment and now am looking forward to book an orals date. I am interested in giving my orals in sydney.. Does anyone have any idea if seats are readily available there or an advanced booking is required? Any idea how much is the waiting time..? Ive contacted amsa regarding the same , but they are asking me to make a payment and fill the form first.. Then they will advise the date for the orals..
