  1. UUMM very interesting, we have landed back on good old British soil on Friday!! (so happy) My OH had been diagnosed with a trapped nerve in his neck, which started just over 3 wks ago, on the last week of us settling on our property and John been in chronic pain, the physio and doctor said they couldn't do any more for him, and that he probably needed an operation !! We changed all our plans so that when we settled on the 12th then flew straight back on the 13th, I just wanted to get him home and have a third opinion if you like and if that was the case, he could have the op and then rest at my parents home. Got him straight in at docs yesterday Monday and have a specialist appointment on Wednesday, so lets wait and see what they say.......will be interesting...... So good to be home !!! Doesn't quiet feel real yet :biggrin::biggrin:
  2. Hi There, where are you living? Why have you not settled in Oz Do you think? Very interested, we are hopefully fly home back to the midlands next week !!! If my husband gets the all clear as he has a trapped nerve in his neck which is very painful. We have been living on the central coast for 6yrs. Cant wait to go home !!!!
  3. Hi There, we had packers in yesterday, such a relief there gone now !! Hows things going with you ?
  4. Hi Jules, So pleased for you, we had the packers in also thursday and friday, ours was a little more stressful, we have more stuff than we were quoted for aahhh.. so we have to re evaluate, but ours is going into storage first, until we fine a new property in the UK. We have flights booked for next monday the 17th, but panicking at the moment as John my OH has been in terrible pain and has just found out he has a pinched nerve in his neck, worried if he can fly with the pain he is in, and we settle on tuesday 12th. Anyway hope all your plans go well and its such a relief when the container actually leaves !!! You will be home before you know it !!
  5. Hi Both, As you know we are in the process of moving back home, and I haven't had much time to check the site ! Just wanted to say how sorry we are and can't even imagine how you must be feeling. Thinking of you both and wishing you a safe journey back Take care Shell and John x
  6. Wow, its must be just all your emotions running high, keep calm and carry on, I'm sure everthing will turn out great in the end!!! Just think your going home !!! How great is that???
  7. Just wanted to say a big thanks to all you lovely people who really know how to put your feelings into great words. We have officially sold our Aussie home now !!! And are in the process of booking removals and flights within the next week. I am absolutly jumping for joy, can't believed how relieved and happy I am!!!! The site over the last few months has been such a comfort and a relief to know I am not alone and yes I am not totally mad for longing to go back home....(UK) As so many people have told me how crazy I must be, to leave a dream home we've built here, to have no chance of an equiverlent back in the UK,(as here in oz) they just don't understand. I don't care ha ha How they think it must be so great for it to be hot and sunny everyday !!! I'm not sure how our return will be, but I know family and good fiends have wished us all the best and have been totally behind our decision, which is great. And at the end of the day I'm taking a few things we liked in oz back with us. It has not been all bad, but really ready to go home. Can't wait hope to be home begining of July  Thanks again everybody
  8. Great news for you too, I'd been worrying that you had booked your flights without finance approved... Really pleased for you, glad its all working out well. I'm hoping to have our buyers finance approved by the latest tomorrow.... So nervous and been so stressed out I can't believe how much this means to me to be able to go home soon....
  9. Great thanks for that, I take it you have just arrived here !! Hoping the rate will help us as we have made a loss on our property.... Then there be the shipping costs back again Never mind been one hell of an experience
  10. Hi there, How long have you been here? Did you ever settle or feel at home here? Thanks for the good wishes. Reading some of the posts and threads can help with your own thoughts, by reading some of the clever wording and definition, of what you might be thinking and misssing, written by others I think can really help. But in the end its all about how you feel deep down, big decisions... We found it an even harder decision to move back home, then coming here in the first place.
  11. I hope all goes well, how exciting to have the flights booked!!! I still trying to keep my excitment under wraps until have finance confirmed...aahh...on house sale So we are waiting for all that to be sorted before get flights. But really hoping for the end of June ish.. Is Suffolk where you were originally from? But your family are real pleased !! Good luck with house sale
  12. Hi there, just came across your post looking through the threads and posts. How lovely for you and how interesting, so you are really happy you made the right move. Can I ask what made you decide Uk was a better life? Has it really been that easy settling back in? How long were u in WA? We have just sold our oz home and are making plans to return to Uk too.. I known people think we are mad, we built an amazing dream home and yes the weathers great (sometimes when not too hot haha) But there is just too much missing for me and the pull back to the UK is so strong, the weather is far less important now for me, happiness comes first. Be really interested in your views... I truely believe we too will appreciate been back in UK too ....
  13. OMG, great news on house, when are your flights booked for? What part of UK r u going back to? FINGERS AND TOES crossed for u !!!!
  14. Hi Jules, really know how u feel, definetly not crazy!! Funny how we thought we were coming out for a better life, but didn't realise that we already had a pretty good one!! That grass is not always greener at all.... But we do not regret giving it a try and would of always wondered what IF and we're not the type of people to do that you have to give it a go. We are in the same position now with our house sale, hoping to get the buyers valuer out next week and can't wait to get it all confirmed !!! Such a stressful time. We were told to try Perth, as we hadn't settled where we were, people said it was more like england??? Compared to sydney Thanks for the replys, hope I am repling correctly:biggrin:
