  1. We will be going with $35k of savings which (according to my research) would last for 6-8 months in Sydney having that we will not by a car before either of us has a job. We intend to mostly cycle around the city and surroundings (can't wait!) except when we need to attend and interview. We will cook our meals and will share the accommodation as we don't have kids yet. I expect that either one of us will find work within 3-6 months. Let me know what you think. Thanks
  2. Thank you all for the encouraging words Are we all girls in this treat or boys feel the same way also? My partner seems to have much more confidence in what we are doing, although he just got promoted and now he is a member of the management team.
  3. I've been reading those posts from people who got the visa grant and are about to finally do the move that are saying they feel so scared. I thought that those guys are crazy, that something is wrong with them. After going through this 1+ year of struggle to get the visa why it is >now< that they start to worry? Wasn't this the hardest thing they ever did? Why are they not celebrating and enjoying those last weeks of preparation before they board that plane? I will tell you, the visa application is NOT the hardest thing, the hardest thing is actually DOING the move. Leaving your loved ones, quitting your job, selling your stuff, giving up your house/apartment, your home. Honestly, I never thought this will be so hard. Trust me I am not having second thoughts about it, I am doing it. Just wanted to share how I feel and hope this might help others prepare in advance for what is about to happen. All this is real, this emotional waterfall that so many of us are going through is real and it may happen to you also. Be prepared. Good luck to all of you!
  4. Please add your timeline in your signature so all of us can understand the development of your application without digging in past posts to search whether you shared it before. Go to Settings->Edit Signature
  5. As far as I understand this is standard automated communication and everybody receives such email, no matter if Visa application was submitted or not.
  6. I was included as defacto partner and we submitted our application on the 12th of August, still waiting for the grant
  7. Not that it makes a difference, but I received a positive outcome of my VETASSESS assessment yesterday... it took them 13 weeks to complete it
  8. Fingers crossed and hope you can resolve it on Monday. It might be a technical glitch as I am not sure how can you receive an invitation if education, employment and English language are missing...
  9. We lodged our visa on the 12th using ImmiAccount and had no issues uploading documents both for the primary applicant and the de-facto partner (which is me). When we go to Upload documents on the upper right corner a pop up window is opening and you can choose under which of the two applicants you want to upload documents. Are you sure that you properly added your defacto partner in the EOI (it was a little bit tricky I remember understanding where to put the defacto partner and where any dependents (if applicable)?
  10. Looking at the visa lodged threads from the past couple of months it seems those of us who lodged in August are less than those who lodged in July, June and May. Hope we get a faster processing and not wait 12 weeks..
  11. We are done with the medicals so from now on there is nothing else to do except to wait...
  12. Hi, you should click on "Organize your medicals" link bellow each applicant and fill in the questionably, once you are done you will have the possibility to save/print the eMedical form where on top right corner you have the HAP number. Hope this helps.
  13. Well, as far as I am aware, once CO asks you for the PCC and Medicals you have limited time to upload the PCCs and do the medicals, but I am not sure how much.. month or two? So yes, you can prolong the process, but still you have some limitations. Why you started the process, but you don't want to get the visa as soon as possible?
  14. Hi all, We lodged our visa on the 12th of August, we will get the PCCs tomorrow and have the medicals booked for Thursday (21st of August). I've checked in other forums also and it seems that there are people who lodged their visas in May and are still waiting for grant, so it might be more than 10 weeks. Good luck to all of you!
  15. Well as far as I understand they will only assess your 5 years of experience if you pay for the PTA (point test advice) service, otherwise only 1 year is being assessed. But the PTA is not mandatory is up to your discretion. You will need to provide all those proofs of experience to DIBP anyway so your effort was not wasted. Good luck with the SS. BTW how much time it took you to receive the VETASSESS assessment?
  16. I just don't get it, why it has to take so much time for them to check the docs... and they charge one of the highest fees..
  17. Good to know that people with 60 points who submitted EOI about a month ago are receiving invitations hope we get also one on the 28th. I wish you good luck with the rest of the process.
  18. Hi birds, can you share your ANZCO code, points and date you submitted the EOI? Thanks
  19. What is your ANZSCO code and how much points you have when submitting your EOI, thanks
  20. I think this is good news as from what I've seen on the forum, negative results are usually not received on the end of the 12th week
  21. Thanks guys, I do understand that I cannot submit the visa application before we receive the invitation, I am just not sure whether there is any advantage in submitting the EOI today or not. BTW I made a registration and checked the EOI and it seems it will take me less than 8 hours to complete, but I am not sure if it makes sense to do it today...
  22. Thanks scotsaway, I thought the same, anyway would love to see some feedback from someone more experienced in helping people applying for visa?
  23. Guys, We were nicely surprised today to receive the positive assessment from ACS for my partner after less than 3 weeks from the submission! Since they acknowledged all his experience (only deducting 2 years) we are now able to claim 5 pints for it and we don't need to wait for my assessment to be completed to lodge the EOI. I am now wondering does it make sense to take one day off from work and try to find our way through the EOI today... I am struggling to assess the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. If I fill the EOI today does this mean that once we receive the invitation we will be subject to the current visa fee or the new one that will be introduced after +-8 hours? Any advise is welcome! Thank you in advance! ---------------------------------------- Me: Occupation code: 224112; IELTS: 28 April 2014: Overall 8 (7+ each).
