  1. Hi Shel, I'm simply asking weather it's possible to apply for PR when on a 420 visa, I know you're not able to if you've been in Australia for two years on a WHV for example; I'm not saying I will automatically be granted it. This eligibility info sounds interesting, I've been all over the immi website and I can't find anywhere that comments the qualifications or experience I'd need. I thought it might be different from the 457 because there are a lot more roles available for people in the media on a 420 visa than on a 457 visa. Would you be able to send a link to where you found any info on qualifications and experiences? Thanks
  2. Hello there, I'm currently working for the BBC and looking into different routes into Australia where I lived and worked a few years ago. I've got some questions about the Entertainment visa (420) having got completely lost stumbling around the internet searching for answers! So if anyone has any advice/information please let me know. My first question is can you apply for permanent residency once you've worked on a 420 visa for two years or more? My second is, can you still apply for a 457 visa after working on an entertainment visa? The Third, do you need a particular amount of experience to be sponsored on a 420 visa like you do on a 457? Any info would be great! Thanks

  4. Thanks AlexAndDom, It'd be great to hear how it works out with your partners sponsorship. I might still just come out like you've suggested, I've just got to re-evaluate the situation now. Thanks for saying I'm brave though :cute: x
  5. Thanks Blossom, You were pretty brutal but I think you're right. I'm reluctant to go to university at the moment but there are professions on the 457 list that I think I can work as in the media, with what I'm doing at the moment. On average, what would you say the minimum experience I'd need is? And any other advice you have would be great Thanks
  6. Thanks Ali, I've already done that but it's a really competitive country so I'd need to be there to stand a chance
  7. Hi guys I'm in desperate need of your advice! I lived in Melbourne two years ago on a "Special Programme (416)" visa and fell in love with the country. So I'm moving back to Melbourne in a couple of months on a working holiday visa with the hope of eventually finding sponsorship for a couple of years and eventually get residency then Citizenship etc. But that's all very long term. I'm 21 and only have A levels, but I have worked for the BBC and other production companies for over a year now, as well as a school in Melbourne for a year. I know that I'm really young but I miss Australia so much and I really don't want to wait much longer to get back. My concern is that I won't find a job or eventual sponsorship. Everything else is sorted, I've got friends and a place to live, and I've saved around $7000 to get me started but I'm really worried about not finding a job. Could anybody give me advise on how to find a job that'll sponsor me (I'm not looking to get exclusively into production, I'm willing to do more or less anything) or how to source a job once I get to Melbourne; I've heard a lot about this hidden job market I need to tap into? What do you think the chances are of me eventually being sponsored on a 457 visa? I know that there have been some changes to the visa, but I'm wondering what it's like 'on the ground'. Are there willing sponsors out there? Any advise you could give me would be great!!!! Thanks
