  1. Thanks blossom. I appreciate your help x
  2. Thanks so much Rupert...ahh nothing ever goes smoothly. I have thought about state sponsor for hairdressing but I do not have the full 3 years post experience so I do not want to pay all that money to find I cant pass the skills assessment. I have also been advised off a migration agent that they are pretty strict on the 3 year rule, however I could be eligible for a 457, however its very unlikely a hairdressers could meet the sponsor limits, e.g. there is minimum amount of pay they have to meet and have to show they are training, so that would be hard unless a salon was a major salon. No the farm haven't sponsored anyone before I just presumed it may have been an easier route as you are limited to stay in regional Australia and not many people are willing to do that. I am in Tasmania Thanks very much again for your advice
  3. Hey guys please can you help me on a situation this would be much appreciated and also please correct me if I am wrong I am on my first year working holiday visa and i really want to stay out here. I have completed my farm work and have got my second year evidence but do not want to use it straight away. My first visa runs out in 6 weeks then I go home. I am carrying on working on the farm until I leave. I am a qualified hairdresser by trade and have my level 3 qualifications but I have come to the conclusion that I can not get any other visa than a 457 as I don't have the full 3 years post experience as well as my qualifications. The farm are really keen on keeping me as they are expanding and about to purchase a museum down the road full of old farm equipment and they have plans to put in a café and do a lot with it. They have already said they would be more than happy to sponcor me. I have over 5 years work experience in customer services but no qualifications so I am unsure if this sponcor would even be possible. Please can you tell me if this is possible? Its just all in talks at the moment and I am probably just dreaming but thought I would throw it out there and see what everyone thinks....it just seems like my oz dream is never going to happen everything is always so complicated. Thanks for your help in advance
  4. Hi guys so sorry I can't make tonight I have to work late. I will come to the next meet up. Looking forward to meeting you all at some point. Claire
  5. Hey guys I have just come across this post. I am 24 and living near Kingston. I am working on a farm for my second year visa....I would love to meet you all as I am going to try to and become an expat with my hairdressing qualifications when I do my second year. I have a car so can meet anywhere.
  6. Thanks for that. I didn't want to do anything illegal do thought I would check it out. Thanks
  7. I have researched a lot into this and none of the sites state yes or no. Does anyone know? Thanks
  8. I have been looking into different routes into staying permenantly in Australia and have found that my hairdressing qualifications and experience will be my only way in. I am on my working holiday visa and have 4 months left. I was wondering if a 457 visa is my only option or are there other ways? I'm in tassie at the minute and know that is one of the areas hairdressing is needed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  9. I have heard off a friend that somebody she knows has finished her fruit picking and is entitled to her second year visa but the farm have offered her a rural sponcor ship even though she is not qualified in any farming areas. is this possible do you just need to know the right people to get your feet into the door for things like this? thanks
  10. Are you looking for a qualified barber for a sponcor? i have City and guilds NVQ level 3 hairdressing qualifications and a NVQ level 2 hairdressing qualification. Im wanting to stay on in Australia so thought it would be worth asking. pm me if interested. Claire
  11. Hey guys i have until August on my first WHV and i have already been offered a fruit picking job which i am going to take. My question is if i decided not to do the farm work would until August be too little time to find a solid sponcor. I am still unsure on the sponcor processes as i keep hearing different things off everyone and the government website is always confusing. I am a hairdresser by trade and i believe i can get sponcored on this? any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. x
