  1. Hi UKgirl My partner (UK citizen) applied in Auckland in march 2013. He was also told it would take 12 months. So it came at complete surprise when the visa was granted in just 10 weeks! We were completely unprepared for this as we were on holidays in Bali. We were asked once to provide more information about the wedding which was hard cause we couldn't book anything and I'm glad we didn't cause we can't have the date we originally picked cause its outside the 9 months. Good luck with it all
  2. Hi hawthorn We applied for PMV mid march and it was approved begining of June. I can't remember exact dates but it was 12 weeks. We were on holidays and I was wedding this and wedding that and he said 'Enough wedding talk visa isnt going to be granted for months'. Next day it was granted :-) My partner sent in everything at once and we had 1 request for more information about actual wedding plans. I think they might have processed it faster because his NZ visa and police clearance were about to expire. Being process earlier is great but we now can't have a wedding on the date we picked because it is after the 9 months. So having to reorganise everything in peak wedding season and summer holidays is a nightmare. I searched everywhere trying to find someone else who had applied in NZ. Glad you found me and I could help someone else out.
  3. Hi snj87 My partner(English) applied for his visa in New Zealand. It was processed there in Auckland. We were told it would take 12 months to be processed but it only took 3 and was granted while we were both in Indonesia on holiday. This was great news but caused problems as we weren't ready for it.What country did you originally apply in? It might depend on what visa you are on in that country. Would be horrible to have to wait an extra 3 months.
  4. Hi SMOV Thank you so much for your reply I was beginning to stress about not having enough evidence. I know our case is a little unusual as my partner is UK citizen but his visa is being processed in New Zealand as he currently has a working visa there. I just want to make sure we do everything right. And yes we have already provided intent to marriage letter and made a booking with a celebrant (they have assured us they can be flexible with date if needed) Shae
  5. Has anyone else applying for PMV been asked to provide more evidence about the wedding? My partner has and we are struggling to come up with solid evidence as we have been waiting until he visits aus next month to start planning things together for a March 2014 wedding. Letter from visa people: You may wish to provide further evidence that you and your fiancé intent to genuinely marry such as; i. receipt showing that you have booked a hall for your wedding reception ii. guest list iii. wedding invitation card OR iv. any other information you have regarding your intentions to marry, etc. We are too scared to formally book anything and pay a deposit as his visa may not be approved in time. We were working off standard 8-9 month processing time but because his visa is being processed in NZ that is now taking 12 months so we may miss the march date we had planned. We are able to provide - save the date cards, guest list, budget and wedding plan (location ceremony, bridal outfit, reception venue, menu plan) Is that enough?
  6. Hi cookieh we haven't even started planning our wedding. We have quite a few hurdles to overcome before even thinking about a wedding. My partners NZ working visa expires in Oct so we are not sure if they will renew it for a third year or if not where he will go after that. We will still have a 5 month wait for PMV to come through. Initially we though pmv would come through as working visa ended but with a 12 month wait this isnt going to work. He would like to spend dec and jan in Aus on tourist visa but if he has to go back to UK this wont be possible. Unfortuately all of these options cost a lot of money meaning less for our wedding. We would like to change the date to a later one to give us more time to save and allow his family to save to be able to fly to aus. We have spoken to our celebrant and given the circumstance she has said she can be flexible with the date. Its such a shame because we had everything planned to fit a 7-8 month processing time.
  7. My partner (UK citizen) has just applied for prospective marriage visa mid march. Currently he is on a working holiday visa in New Zealand so it is being processed there. Unfortunately for us the wait time is even longer we have been told 12 months. This means we will miss our wedding date and will have to reschedule.
  8. Has any one here applied for PMV out of UK? Where and how long did it take? My partner is on working holiday visa in New zealand so his PMV is being processed there. Unfortunately wait times are even longer and we have been told it will take 12 months.
  9. Has any one else applied for Aus PMV in New Zealand? My partner is UK citizen on NZ working visa and we have submitted our application in march 2013. We have been told wait times are 12 months! 3 more then if it was lodged in London.
