Thanks for explaining. So once we put visa application in we get first vaccination done which will b one year before departure and then five months before we do test again. Will call my vet as he's done them before and start sorting out.
  2. Finally someone that's in the same boat as myself! My husband and I are financially independent and there are no household bills to my name though I contribute. I also like you ave all my bils and so on registered to ths address but that's it! I've been told that should be sufficient and so long as you've been together longer than 3 years u should be ok. Im sure someone who knows more can come here and help. I've not even put my application in and I'm worried, at least your halfway there! Good luck
  3. Hi one more question re medicals - is it only my husband who has to have them seeing he is applying under the spouse visa as I'm Australian, or do I do them too? Stupid question I know but just to be on safe side
  4. Hi, im Australian and my hubby English. Been living in UK for 11 years and absolutely love it here. But hubby wants to try life in Perth. I left Perth as I wanted to see the world and knew there is a world outside of OZ. funny hw the Brits that go live in OZ feel the need to slate the UK.. It's a brilliant place to live and I'm now having sleepless nights at the dea of going back to OZ. There is so much culture inUK, so much to do. Oh gd I really don't want to leave ?
  5. Thanks for that as was looking on website and couldn't find link.
  6. Hi just wondering but once you have to get your medical s done, which doctors do these? Is it your own GP or do they give you a list of approved GPs? thanks

Hi thanks for the link I've actually been on that site before. But I'm still very confused as it says odd needs to have vaccine 12 months prior to export and test up to 5 months prior to export ! Have I read tat wrong?
  8. Thanks for your reply snifter. Out of interest is there an age limit on this type of visa? Hubby turns 46 in may..
  9. Hi all I'm really confused and would like some advice please. My hubby and I, (we've been married six years, been living together for 8 years, no kids) will be applying for spouse visa for him. However in all these years we ave never bothered to get a joint bank account as it suited us to keep things as they were. We share expenses and so forth and my bank accounts are under my married name however my passports aren't. I hold an Aussie and an Italian passport which us y I can live and work in UK without restrictions. Will our not having joint accounts and so on affect our proving ours is a real and genuine relationship? We got married in perth as tat is where my family lives. Any advice would be appreciated. We just never thought of doing anything as we never thought we would move to perth but now I'm concerned.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. There is so much to think about I think my mind is going to explode! I will put the visa application in first and then do the rest. When you say the rabies ab needs to be done 5 months before pet travels, this obviously means he will only need 30 days in quarantine is tat right? I'd hate for him to b in there any longer than that.
  11. Hi all just joined this forum, wow so much info to explore. Quick intro: i am Aussie from Perth and my hubby is British and we've made the decision, well actually he's made it, to move down under to perth! ? We are looking at applying under the partner visa and I'm flabbergasted at how much there is to do! We also have a five year old dog, a Lhasa apso , who will be moving over with us. I've been living in UK for 11 years and, even though my family is in perth, I'm terrified of the move! Bit silly hey!? So will be scouring this forum for lots of top tips and hopefully can make new friends to meet up with once we've moved!

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and will actually introduce myself properly in the welcome pages. In the meantime, I'm an Aussie living in UK my hubby is British and we've now decided to make the move to perth where I'm from. We've yet to start the visa process but my question is do we start our doggie's "visa" process at the same time or wait until the partner visa has been granted? If we wait will we ave enough time to send our baby boy (he's 5) over at the same time as us? I don't want to leave him behind not even for a week. I'm happy to send him ahead as my family can take care of him once quarantine is over. Your help is greatly appreciated x
