  1. Afternoon from a sunny england for once, ange im so sorry to hear life has been so difficult for you in OZ, have you thought of trying elsewhere in oz first , try moving area, try the northcairns or sunshine coast. Were told HR is very short over there,,, this is the reason why im a little concerned my hubby is in his 40s and if he cannot secure that good well paid job , then its sacrificing money which is for my retirement. I must get well over 200 jobs a day for headchef or executive chef. . Its a long way to co e home ange I dont blame you for wanting too though, but if it was me id try other regions id even try New Zeland before dong the return trip back to the uk. Maybe your daughter can get work from home, or do herself a book to get recognition and demand for her skills. Take care sweetheart i hope you manaage to secure the life we all believe exists in OZ. Carol.
  2. Hi there thanks for that, I was gobsmacked and when they showed me the cat crate I told themmonty would need something double the size so he can move about. Ill have more of a look around , its really appreciated any financial savings are brilliant. Have a good day carol
  3. Afternoon thanks for all the advice . Ive had a quick scout on a couple of sites, I reckon were looking at $400+rent wk. But until we getthere im not signing any tenancy until weve had time to look at all the suburbs. Luckily I thinktheres immediate accommodation included for when we arrive, depending what this is like , if no good may have to get short term furnished accomodation. Which I gather will be very expensive. Thanks again Carol
  4. Afternoon cheers for all your advice, ive had a quick look it looks like were going to be looking at a rent of $400+ . There is only the 2 of us but will want space for when the kids and family visit.. Have a good day Carol
  5. Evening from here in the uk, its going to cost an awfull lot of money, im looking at coming the other way with a shih tzu, got a quote frm transfur £4000 approx I was amazed and that was in a cat crate darling if you can id find foster homes for them. No onecan do more than €20, 000 to transfer pets. Its also 10days in quarantine in adelaide so I expect it could be around that coming back. The UKis a very different place from 11yrs ago so id think hard, theres alot of migration from eastern Europe, which in turn has meant employers take advantage of paying them below minimum wages, its not there fault but as a result people get paid alot lower than 10yrs ago in work in particular the service industries and a lot of anger from certain communities as theyve real issues as a direct result.. NHS has lots of problems too ... definatly the uk is a different place... so much so why alot of uk citizens emigrate themselves. Good luck for the future and I hope you get everything you wish for
  6. Hi everyone, been trying for a long time to get offered sponsored work for my hubby. Looks like we finally may have it, our application has been passed to the hiring manager working for the defence as civilian chef. Hubby is ex military probs why hes been passed over... anyone know anything about life there, rents for 2/3bed house not cbd somewhere peaceful. Cheers carol
  7. Hi there we went to an expo last weekend and spoke to petair , was quoted €4000+ for a shih tzu.!!!! So beware your going to need alot of cash . Cheers carol
  8. Hi, tell me how awfull the season has gone, should never of let mick go untill there was a capable manager fromthe prem/championship leagues. I'd of thought you would be needed everywhere No probs getting work anywhere. Cheers Carol
  9. Thanks very much, will give it a whirl you never know.... hes a really good chef has experiance doing every aspect . hope everything goes well for you.
  10. So nice to know someone else from this dog hole has the sense to want to leave it, are you a wolves supporter? why did you choose Ballarat to go live in, as most want melbourne if going to Victoria? Hope it all goes well for you Carol & Jeff
  11. Sorry if im babbling... mC Cains where my hubby worked told him for them to sponsor his move in Austrailia, they have to be advertising a position on there internal job site, once he has found a position then he is to apply for it online, imforming his admin sections manager who will take the details and pass them on to the plant manager in Ballarat so that he can them help with the employment process and the visa process/ sponsorship. However if he finds a position as ahead chef before he finds work with Mc cains, he will apply for state sponsorship , this is what he has been advised to do by the immigration website as his trade is on the skilled worker lists in nearly all areas of Australia.. HOPE THIS IS MORE READABLE, UNDERSTANDABLE. Carol
  12. Hi everyone, Since deciding that we would love to live down under we have looked predominatley at moving to the Northern Suburbs of Perth, Joonalup (hope ive spelt right), we have had no luck in my hubby finding any work in the area to begin the visa applications, as we are looking for state sponsorship with employer in place. have been getting so fed up, at this rate we will never do it as we will get too old for a visa soon being in our mid 40's. However hubby was informed by the admin section at his work last week that they would probs sponsor him, he needs to see a relevant job advertised on the company website first and apply for it, the management team here in the uk then put him in direct contact with the plant manager to move things on and hopefully this will be the way into Aus. Mc Cain foods are located in Ballarat Victoria, or there is a small site in penola South Aus. Weve looked at the area and completed some research and as long as we didnt have to live in the middle of a city would be willing to live in this region, just a shame not too near to a beach. We prefer quieter areas with views. So heres to finding a position he can apply for asap. That is unless a Head chefs position pops up and is willing to take him on and give him full sponsorship Anywhere in Aus. Do employers who sponsor migrants ever offer full resettlement packages? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE MORE THAN WELCOME. hAVE A GOOD DAY BYEEE FOR NOW JEFFCAZ02
