  1. Hi paget01, What visa are you applying for? 20 wk seems too long.. Sorry to say this... but if that's whats gonna happen to me, then I might have to change my plan and give up all my hopes and dreams... I've been out of work since Dec (which was my initial start date with the company in AUS).. Back then, I didnt know i would have this kind of medical issues as my GP confirmed there is no problem at all!! ) .. Even worse, while waiting for the medical assessment, I've received a few job offers in my home country, but have rejected them because I hoped something miracle happens.. which didnt.... I guess I am running out of patience... and cash.. I will probably need to make a decision in the next week or so... By the way, I feel so sorry for you and the kids.. Hopefully all goes well with your visa... Good luck!
  2. Hi paget01...Did you actually ask your C/O to speed things up? Did you manage to change or postpone your start date ? I am on the same boat as you.. I am applying for 457, and my start date has been postponed 3 times already... Now, they are putting my start date as TBC... I am jsut worried that they will eventually revoke the offer and find someone else to fill the position.. I was thinking about calling my C/O, but someone told me that harrassing C/O would make things worse.. so I should just leave them alone... For me.. its been 7 wks since my 3rd medical test got referred....(Even though i had no problem, they requested me to undergo 3 medical tests... it took 4 months to prove that I actually have no health problem....My GP didnt understand why/how this happened... )
  3. Hi Emma 83, Congrats on your medical finalisation!! Can I ask you how long your waiting time has been since the referral? Mine has been almost 7 weeks, and now I am getting worried my job offer might be revoked due to the time delays.. (I had a job offer in Oct last year!!!) (
  4. Hi All, Not sure if anyone has an idea as to how the medicals are processed once referred... I've already asked the same question on a differnt forum/thread.. but it seems there is no firm answer... I am posting this question as a new thread to get a general idea... 1) Priortisation on medical process Does anybody know if the Meds are processed on a first-in-first-out basis? OR Is there any type of priortisation methods ? (e.g. prirotising the Meds for those who have a higher academic degree, or who have shortage skills in Aus, etc) 2) Global Health processing location Was just wondering if GH handles all applications in one location? OR applications are allocated to different GH offices depending on what types of visa you apply or which city/state you are applying? Thanks in advance
  5. Thanks mattybe.. and Congrats on your visa grant~!
  6. Hi All, Just a quick question - Does anybody know if the Meds are processed on a First-in-first-out basis? OR Is there any type of priortisation methods ? (e.g. prirotising the Meds for those who have a higher academic degree, or who have shortage skills in Aus, etc)
  7. Hi CC14, Any updates from your CO? I also did my further test for TB in the beginning of Feb.. all negative.. I am just curious... when they say "8-12 weeks", does that mean there is NO way the Meds be finalised within the next couple of months? Anyone has idea? Fyi - my first x-ray test result took 2 days for them to review... and the second x-ray test took 4 weeks for review.. and now the TB test result is being "referred".. its been 3 weeks..
  8. Thanks jasonorange.. I guess there is nothing I can do about it at this stage.... Same as other folks here, I am getting really worried and frustrated about all the delays..
  9. Thx jasonorange.. That's a great news! Assuming I will get the 457 visa, I wanted to go there early and sort things out first.. e.g. house, phone etc
  10. Thx jasonorange.. Actually, I did ask my employer (both recruitment officer and TA) about my contract.. The answer was.. "dont know yet".. I've been told that it is not a problem "for now" as there is no urgency to fill the position... However, if there is a urgent need, they will probably have to escalate the issue and look for other options... (they didnt tell me what the "other options" are..)
  11. Btw, does anybody know if it is possible to go Aus with a tourist visa while waiting for the 457 ?
  12. Hi, In Australia.... is it possible (or legal) for a company to cancel a signed contract because of some unforeseen delays in the visa application process? On the signed contract, I was supposed to commence working in Nov 2012. However, due to additional requests made by the Immigration, the visa application process has been delayed. At this stage, I am not quite sure how long it would take more. Given that, I am getting impatient and worried if the company will cancel my contract and find someone else to fill the position. So, does anybody know if it is possible (or legally acceptable) to cancel the contract? Or the signed contract does not guarantee anything as I havent started working in the company yet? Thx in advance!
  13. Hi Rupert, Thanks for your comment. The current application status is "Further medical results referred". It has not been updated since then. So, it should be with the medical office atm.
