  1. Ok that seems not so bad, as long as he gets the evisitor visa, he can enter Australia and then wait for the 820/801. We could look at getting a 6 month/12 month evisitor, he doesnt need working rights. I wonder if he could apply for a bridging visa a again when he comes back to Australia I just hope there is a solution rather than reapplying again. We just could not wait for him to apply for the bridging visa by post as sending the application on a friday we would have to wait several business days for him to get it back and he needed to travel immediately. I hope that we can get it sorted, Im sure there will be a way but obviously a way that is less stressful will be better than a big headache Thanks for your help
  2. We applied for partner visa in JUL 2014, so we have been waiting 8 months, He is fine to come back on a visitor visa (as long as its approved) I guess I just wonder if they would still consider the partner visa without having to apply again and pay the $4700 ouch,
  3. I was hoping someone can give me some advice. Yesterday afternoon my partner got a call from Italy and he had some family matters that he had to go home to. He booked a flight and got on a plane just a couple of hours ago. We are applying for PArtner Visa, we are on bridging visa A ( no leave Australia) We didnt have time to arrange Bridging visa B becuase of time restraints. I have sent an email to Immi dept reagrding this but now am worried as we didnt get approval. I think that he should be back in 2-3 weeks time once he has dealt with this issue in his family. Does anyone know if we will be ok to get him back in the country, We would have got a correct Bridging visa B if time allowed but he had to go at such short notice. Now I am worried this will jeopardise our situation I would be grateful to anyone who may have some information that they could share that might help before I hear back from Immigration department Thanks everyone
  4. I was just asking for some advice, there is no need to be so rude. I have never submitted an application for Partner visa before, this is my first time so thats why I was asking for advice. The Dept dont ask for any amount of pictures, thats why I was asking for advice. Get over your rude attitude and try and help people in a positive manner. Im sure you have experience you could use to help others in a nice and not so patronising manner Sorry that I didn't know the correct amount of photos to upload!
  5. Well there are several photos over 5 years with the 2 of us and my niece from ages 1-5 and to me it would indicate that we have been in each others lives for several years. I cant see that it will go against me anyway, and I have already supplied the rest of the paperwork etc. Im not sure why if some people say that photos dont help that the dept of immigration ask for them
  6. Ok thanks for your help, I will try and condense it to 20 or so photos and shrink the size down. Many Thanks
  7. Hi everyone. I hope someone can help me I am in the process on applying for partner visa and we have to upload some photos. Should we load them separately or together in a file? I put 15 pics together in a word .doc file and it was 9mb and it said the file was too big. The reason I am concerned is that when I enquired previously the immigration agent on the telephone said the application could only have a total of 60 attachments. Anything else would have to be emailed or sent in. I wondered if someone knew of an easy solution to show many pics in a small file size so I could load our 90 photos into as less documents as possible Thanks in advance if people can help
  8. Well looking at things we may now go online and apply. I was just thinking we could go in person and receive the bridging visa. We can get most of the documents very quickly and have no plans of delaying this, its just we need some statements from 2 australians which may take a couple of weeks for them to get sorted as they need their documents sorted for certification. I would have thought that a detailed letter explaining this would help but not sure if we can lodge this online or not. We have bills etc and statements that we can upload with the application its just waiting for police reports that may be an issue What is a CO? Thanks for your help and advice
  9. Hi everyone, I am Australian and live on Gold Coast with my partner who is on a 3 month tourist visa expiring in a few weeks. We have been in a defacto relationship for over 12 months and we want to apply for the partner visa. We do not have all the information at the moment but will be ok if we write a letter stating this is what we have and this is what we don't have but are in the process of getting and will supply the department with once we have? We are wanting to hand in our documents in person at the Brisbane office. What will be the procedure to get his bridging visa in place to take over from his tourist visa. Will they be able to do that when we hand in the application form? Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer
  10. If you are able to fly with BA you can purchase extra suitcases, up to a total of 7 or 8 for around £40-£70 each extra case. Good value if you need to bring loads over
  11. Hello everyone, we are coming to australia in a couple of weeks, my partner gets his new Italian passport on Tuesday as it's almost expired. We then have to apply for a tourist visa to get him in to Aus. We can apply for normal free 3 month Visa or pay for 6 or 12 month visa we need to apply for partner visa after soon as we have now been together 12 months + in the defacto relationship (6 months in uk and the last 6 months travelling asia together) what is the procedure for him to extend his free tourist visa once in Australia, im im concerned about getting him 12 month tourist visa as if we apply soon his bridging visa will not activate till his 12 months are up and he won't be able to work Im not sure what to do! Can we just go to NZ for the weekend in a couple of months if we have not got our docs sorted? also does anyone know a cheapish migration agent near Gold Coast or brisbane? We we have been in a relationship for 4 years yet I feel so scared we won't get the partner visa approved. i feel guilty like when I walk through customs at the airport, I feel so guilty thanks everyone
  12. Is there anything which would trigger the no further stay? Like coming from a country where overstay/working illegally more likely than others? I'm trying to think what would happen if he gets the no stay allowed
  13. Im thinking to apply for the 12 month tourist visa but how do I know if they will put the no further stay on it? How do they apply it? 2 people with identical circumstances could have 2 different decisions
  14. The plan was a tourist visa, them lodging a partner visa which would kick in a bridging visa until the partner visa was decided. I don't understand the No Further stay on a Tourist visa. Does that apply to certain passport holders (he has Italian) or is it up to the discretion of the computer operator I'm very confused
  15. Thanks for your help everyone. It looks like he will be able to work when he gets the bridge visa, so that looks good, its just a shame that there is definitive answer to our cruise. If we get an immigration officer who is a cruise addict like we are they will approve it I'm sure! It seems crazy that you might not be able to go on an international holiday together while waiting for the visa. We have just completed 12 months together ( living together on paper and travelling together around asia ) We now have to get a tourist visa for him, we have to get him a new passport as it expires in 7 months then apply for a tourist visa. Will Australia grant a 12 month tourist visa for an Italian citizen? ( he can offer proof of funds to show that he can support himself without the need to work) or should we apply for a 3 month visa and do a NZ run. I just want to do the thing that is best for our situation We are genuine and our relationship is genuine, yet I feel like I am doing something wrong and I am scared they will say no I appreciate everyones help, its sweet that people are giving advice trying to help xxx
